Jane wielded the magic wand in her hand and sparks flew everywhere. My father, a.k.a. Captain Hook, shielded my body with his. Mal wrestled it away from her and everyone gasped. We ran down to the floor and stood behind her.

"I'm not evil!" she shouted. "Our parents made their choices, but I am not my mother... Jay, stealing doesn't make you happy, does it? Tourney and victory pizza with the team make you happy. And Carlos, scratching Duke's belly makes you happy, who would've thought?" We all laughed a little.

"Evie," Mal scoffed and smiled. "You do not need to play dumb to get a guy. You are so smart," her voice broke. "And Uriana. You're the daughter of a sea goddess and legendary King of the Sea, for goodness sake! I was so mean to you and jealous of you for so long, but you are so strong! You don't need potions to be beautiful! And you love Jay. I can see it in your eyes that his presence alone makes you happy.

"And... I wanna go to school, and be with Ben. Because Ben makes me really happy." Tears filled Mal's eyes as she showed off the ring Ben had given her. I locked my gaze on Jay's and a soft smile graced his lips. He wrapped his arms around my waist and picked me up, twirling me around. My right arm went around his neck and my left hand rested on his cheek.

My messy white strands formed a curtain around our heads. The next few minutes were a blur. Maleficent flew into the room just as Mal tossed the wand to the Fairy Godmother. Maleficent overpowered her and froze everyone but us. She exploded into a giant dragon and I sprang into action as she readied herself to destroy my friends.
