Juliet kept contemplating the events that had occurred the night before.

‘It’s not like I touched him. It was a harmless encounter; just a neighbor helping another neighbor. Even if I didn’t know her name until last night,’ she thought.

It didn’t matter her parents would be here in three days and nobody would have to, but she would know. She had only caught a glimpse of the boy, but it wasn’t enough to have a perfect image of him. The peep hole was bit dirty, and didn’t allow her to see him completely. All she saw was dark, raven hair. That was all she had to let her imagination wonder.

Though she didn’t know that she would be in his presence for the second time because there was knocking on the door, once again.

She ran down the stairs, before looking at the clock in the hallway. It was barley noon.

“Who is it?” she called out like the night before.

“It’s Zayn,” was the respond.

“Sorry I don’t know any Zayns,” she yelled out.

“Well we met, well briefly talked last night. Remember I asked for a cup of sugar, Trisha’s son,” he said both hands on the door frame.

“What do you want?” she asked.

“I came to return your cup,” he said simply.

“Just leave it on the ground,” she explained trying to avoid as much contact with him.

He bent down and set the cup on the ground. He started walking away when she opened the door as fast as she could to grab the cup.

Before she could step a foot back inside Zayn had quickly turned around making her freeze. She slowly stood up with the cup in hand. They both stared at each other for what seemed like a life time. Finally Zayn spoke up and waved.

“Hi.”

“Hi,” she whispered.

“What’s your name?” he asked stepping closer.

“J-Juliet,” she stuttered out. She was frozen to the ground.

Zayn couldn’t imagine a more perfect name for her. He was used to girls stuttering, but when she did, it just sounded so innocent.

“I’m Zayn,” he said. Both of them still staring at each other.

“Um, that’s nice?” she said not knowing what to do with the information. “Well I better get back inside.” She said quickly turning around and slamming the door, before he could call her back.

She slid down the door, hugging the cup to her chest. Her chest rising and falling. She wasn’t used to encounters with people she didn’t know.

Zayn just stared at the red door where Juliet had simply been moments ago. He didn’t know what to think of the situation, so he started back for home, his thoughts all jumbled up.

“Zayn sweetie, what’s wrong?” his mother asked.

“No- nothing’s wrong mum why do you ask?” he said hesitantly.

“Well it looks like you’ve seen a ghost. Anyways your dad is cooking outside today. Go help him out in the back,” she said.

‘It wasn’t a ghost, it was a girl in the form of an angle’ he thought, but nodded his head mindlessly.

Juliet was tying her shoes, ready to go to her special place. She couldn’t get the scene from earlier out of her head.

‘Maybe listening to the radio will help me,’ she thought heading out the backdoor.
