I met Joe at the hospital during my lunch break and we went for a walk. The hospital was emptier than usual and I couldn't help but feel like I was being watched. It was the middle of December, yet it was as hot as an oven outside, it had been like this for months. I guess I was too busy enjoying the heat to worry about it. We went into town to grab some lunch but our usual place was shut. There were very little people about and most shops were shut. We must have thought it had something to do with the World Cup being on. We eventually found somewhere for lunch and sat down. As we ate a TV in the corner of the room sparked to life. The lady behind the counter had turned it on and was struggling wit the remote control. She fumbled with it before finally managing to change the TV to the news channel. Both me and joe instantly turned our heads to face the TV as the reporter started to cry. She gathered herself and said in a fearful voice:
"War has been declared on America by a newly formed terrorist group supposedly dedicated to protecting the environment. They have just launched a nuclear weapon at America, as of this moment, we are at nuclear war... As of this moment, the end of the world has come."
