Natsu x Reader: Something Beautiful

Chapter Seven

You were surrounded by darkness, and there was an eerie silence in the air around you. "Hello!?" you called but no answer. "Is anyone there?!" you kept yelling to get any sort of response. Even a simple noise would have made you feel better, but nothing. You fell to your knees and hung your head low. "I'm all alone. Why am I the only one!?" you yelled. All the sudden you heard a multitude of voices all saying things like, "What a freak!", "You're so annoying!", and "No wonder your parents left you!". You covered your ears trying to shut out the voices but to no avail. Then a familiar boy pulled you up from your position. He was taller than you and for some reason you knew for a fact that you had seen him before but couldn't figure out who he was. His image was blurred but you could tell that he had dark hair. He gripped your wrists so tight that you thought you would have gotten bruises. After he pulled you up he whispered in your ear. "You thought you could hide behind that dragon, but now you're free game. I will find you..." He said and you tried to escape but to no avail. Then out of nowhere the voices were gone and so was the boy holding on to you. All you could see now was another boy standing in the distance. Once again you knew that you knew who he was but you couldn't remember. He just stood there and looked towards you. "Who are you?! Did you get rid of them for me?!" you yelled since he was pretty far away. He just stood there in the distance. When you tried to walk towards him he just stayed the same distance away. He didn't walk away from you but every time you took a step closer it was as though you didn't actually move. Then the figure disappeared and all of the darkness disappeared and bright light blinded you.

The sun's rays were shining through the window next to you as you slowly stirred from your deep sleep. You heard birds outside singing their songs and you heard the shower going. Lucy must already be in the shower. You thought. You yawned and attempted to sit up in the bed but something was holding you down. You groggily looked to your side and saw the pink haired fire mage. Oh it's only Natsu.....Wait!!! Natsu!?!? Not only was he sleeping next to you, he had his arms wrapped around you waist! You then screamed and jumped out of bed as quick as you could.

"N-Natsu? What the hell are you doing!?" you yelled while blushing madly. He only slightly stirred and sat up rubbing his eyes. Then you heard Lucy getting out of the shower.

"(y/n)! What's wrong?!" Oh no! Lucy! Natsu was now awake and processing the situation. Just then Lucy ran out in nothing but a towel to see what had scared you.

Natsu looked at you then to Lucy..... There was a really awkward silence.

"Yo, good morning Lucy!" Natsu said without a care in the world, then Lucy snapped.

"NATSU YOU PERVERT!!!!" she said then kicked him so hard that he went flying out of the window. Ouch, that's gotta hurt. Happy and Slade had woken up at this point and both asked what was going on.

Lucy then looked at you but her face immediately softened. "Gomen, (y/n) I bet you were scared when you woke up. I forgot to tell you that he sometimes does that. They both somehow end up coming here in their sleep." She said giggling. He does this often!?

"No, it's alright Lucey, he just startled me a bit." You said with a small blush.

"I'll make breakfast before we go, so maybe you should go check on Natsu and see if he's okay." She said with a grin. So I guess this happens a lot since she is already over what Natsu did.

"Alright Lucy! Happy. Slade. You coming?" you asked the two exceeds.

"Aye Sir!!" they both yelled in unison.

When you made it out of the apartment you found Natsu outside rubbing his head. You looked at him and for a brief moment he seemed to be pondering over something. Wait is he blushing!? Could he be thinking about when he saw Lucy? I wonder if he likes Lucy. It would make sense since they are both good friends. For some reason when you were thinking about this you felt kind of sad.

Natsu's P.O.V. (from the beginning)

I was sleeping peacefully until I was jerked awake by something. I started to open my eyes when I hear someone scream. I wasn't sure what they were screaming about but I wished that they would stop. When I finally came to my senses and saw (y/n) standing in front of me. I was about to ask her why she was in my house, but then I realized that I was actually in Lucy's apartment. Oh no, please tell me I didn't.... By the way she was looking at me I could tell that I did. I had come here in my sleep and gotten in bed with her. When I thought about this I blushed but she didn't seem to notice. Then I heard Lucy come out of her bathroom so I switched my gaze from (y/n) to Lucy.... She was only in a towel. It didn't bother me as much since this has happened serval times before, and the fact that she is only a good friend. So after she stared me down for a moment I finally spoke up. But when I did she called me a pervert and kicked me through the window. How rude.... I thought.

So there I was sitting outside thinking about what just happened. I started blushing again when I thought about how I had accidentally gotten in bed with (y/n). It had happened several times with Lucy but it didn't bother me with her. I wonder why that is? What is it about (y/n) that makes me embarrassed doing that? Maybe it's because I don't know her as well as I know Lucy yet. Yeah that must be it. I was shaken from my thoughts as I saw (y/n), Slade, and Happy approach me.

Back to my P.O.V.!!! (it sounds really creepy if it's me... cause I'm like spying on you.. O.o)

You approached Natsu and he snapped his head up.

"Hey (y/n)! Sorry about earlier... I didn't mean to." He said apologetically.

"No it's okay, Lucy told me that it wasn't on purpose." You smiled at him. For some reason you couldn't help but forgive him. If it were anyone else you would have probably punched them... I wonder why it's different with Natsu. You decided not to ponder on it and held out a hand to Natsu to help him up. At first he just looked at your hand. "Come on, Lucy is making breakfast before we go on the mission." You said smiling.

He grabbed your hand but you two just stood like that for a second, looking into each other's eyes.

"They liiiiiiiike each other~" Happy whispered to Slade.

"They defiantly like each other~" Slade responded trying to cover his mouth. These two comments made you both blush and look away from each other. You none the less pulled him up and you led him back to the apartment.

By the time you had gotten back Lucy had made breakfast for you all. She made you, Natsu and herself bacon and eggs while she cooked two small fish for Slade and Happy.

"Luuuuuucy you're the best!!!" Happy exclaimed with tears brimming in his eyes.

"Yeah, yeah let's just eat. We need to get to the guild to meet with the others and find a job for (y/n)." she said smiling.

"Yeah! I wanna hurry up and get on the road!" Natsu yelled.

"Natsu... If when we go wherever it's mostly likely going to be by tain."

"Nooooooooo!" Natsu said in agony.

"Wait, Natsu why don't you like trains?" you asked.

"You're a dragon slayer right? Then you should know that dragon slayers always get sick on any form of transportation." Lucy informed you.

"Don't tell me that you have some sort of immunity!! That's not faaaaaaair!" Natsu groaned. You knew that you defiantly did not have a problem with it since you had hitched a ride on the back of a truck while traveling around once. I never knew that about dragon slayers, I guess it doesn't apply to half dragons like me.

"hmmm I guess that I do have some sort of immunity, sorry Natsu!" you laughed and he just groaned some more.

After you guys had all eaten, you walked to the guild. When you all got there, Erza and Gray were already there.

"It's about time you showed up, Erza and I already found a job that looks good." Gray said as you guys walked into the guild. Erza then gave you a piece of paper and Natsu and the others peered over your shoulder to read it. It said that some villagers went missing and would be found a few days after, frozen solid in the forest around the village. It gave a pretty big reward and it seemed that it would be pretty easy since you would probably only be dealing with one thing or person.

"Hey this looks pretty good, but I wonder why they're turning up frozen even though it's like the middle of summer." Lucy said.

"I don't know but this will be a piece of cake!" Natsu proclaimed.

"Do you want to do this one (y/n)?" Erza asked you. For some reason you had a bad feeling about this but you brushed the feeling off and accepted the job.

"Yeah! This seems like a good one to start with! Let's go!!" you said folding the paper and putting it in your pocket. You then ran towards the door and everyone followed.

When you all made it to the train station Natsu looked irritated. "Natsu what's the matter with you?" you asked with a smirk.

"I just don't get why we have to take a train. Why can't we just walk there?"

"Maybe because it would take us a five days by foot but only one day by train." Lucy interjected, "and I bet (y/n) doesn't want to walk that much since she's been walking around everywhere since she left her home."

"Lucy is right Natsu. We have to take the train." Erza said. Natsu just grumbled some more and you all got on the train. Once you all got on the train, Erza, Grey, and Lucy all sat on one side while you, Natsu and the two cats sat on the other side. Slade took a seat on your lap and Happy just sat next to Natsu. Not long after you were all seated one of the attendants yelled down the hallways.
"Excuse me everyone but the train will be moving now so make sure you are all seated!" Just then the train started to move. At that very moment Natsu got really sick and was groaning in discomfort. Man! That was quick! This is worse than I thought! You tried to make him feel better by gently patting his back but to no avail.

"*sigh* Don't worry Natsu, I will help you." Erza said. You were about to wonder what she was going to do but just then she leaned over and punched him really hard in the gut. What the heck!?

"Erza what was that for!?" you protested seeing a now unconscious Natsu leaning forward into Erza's hands.

"Don't worry (y/n) Erza usually does that to help Natsu from being sick and miserable." Gray answered without looking at you. He was resting his head on his hand and looking out of the window next to him.

"That's right, now (y/n) if you wouldn't mind would you let Natsu lie down over there." Erza asked

"U-uh y-yeah." You grabbed Natsu and the only thing you could do with him was have him lay on your lap so you ask Slade to move and he went and sat on Lucy's lap. You then laid Natsu's head down on your lap. You couldn't help but notice how soft his hair was when you were moving him. What is going on!? Natsu is laying on my lap and I feel like my chest is going to explode! I don't l-like him do I? Gah! What am I thinking!? You shook your thoughts away and looked over at Erza and Lucy. They were both looking at you and Natsu with big smiles, and you just glared at them. You looked away and stared out the window. The scenery was amazing and as you gazed out at the beauty you somehow ended drifting off to sleep.

X3 so I didn't plan for there to be so many "moments" between you and Natsu but it just kinda happened lol Anyway! I hope you liked it!
