Chapter 4

After the photo shoot Nate and I drove to my house. On the way back we stopped to get milkshakes from Sonic. While we are waiting for the milkshakes I pull out my wallet to give Nate money. Before I even open my wallet Nate throws it in the backseat. I glare at him knowing that he wont let me pay. I roll my eyes and turn up the radio. "Breaking News! There has been a shooting in the downtown Sacramento area killing 4 people and injuring 10." My face turn white like I had just seen a ghost. I pull out my phone and dial my sister who lives in that area. Nate looks at me panicked and I say " My sister lives in that area." He nods and turns down the radio. The calls goes to voicemail. I begin to cry and terrible thoughts come to my head. Want if she's hurt, what if shes trapped somewhere, but worst of all... what if she's dead. Nate pulls me into his chest and I begin to whale. The man comes with milkshakes and we pull away. When we get to my house I run to my office and call my mom. When my mom picks up she sounds like she has been crying. "Mom whats wrong? Is Daniella okay?" I bombard her with millions of questions. "Sweetie, they can't find her. The shooting was worse than they thought. The shooters are dead but they kidnapped 10-30 people and police are looking for them" I drop to my knees crying. Nate comes in and sees that I'm on the floor. He talks to my mom and after a while hangs up. He carry's me bridal style to my bed. He lays me down and turns off the lights. I feel the bed dip down and feel a pair of strong arms wrap around me. I turn over and cry until there are no tears left to cry. He looks at me and kisses my forehead. He says in a calm voice "I'm sure your sister is fine, we can drive to Sacramento tomorrow if you want." I nod my head, I haven't seen my family in a couple of months. Nate tells me to get some sleep so I cuddle into him and begin to fall into a deep sleep.
