Dahlia

'Dad, Dahlia won't turn down her stupid music.' Skylar complained, in her silly whiny voice. I turned the volume louder whilst simultaneous rolling my eyes and facing away from her. My dad made eye contact with me using the rear view mirror and glared.

'Dahlia, I'll confiscate your iPod if you don't turn it down.' He threatened.

'I'm using my earphones, Skye blasts fucking Jessie J out her damn speakers and you don't say a thing.' I said, defensive.

'Lia, I swear, I'm gonna take your iPod away if you don't apologise.' Dad said, his hands gripping the steering wheel.

'Fuck no, Skye complains about everything.' I said stubbornly and help my iPod tight. Dad sighed and just told Skye that he'll deal with me later.I smiled, satisfied, while Skye grumbled, turning over another page in one of her stupid science books. I drowned myself in the voice of Andy Biersack as he sang The Mortician's Daughter. I closed my eyes and let myself sink into a deep sleep, we still had an hour to get to our destination.

'Wake the fuck up, Lee.' Skye said as she shook me repeatedly.

'Get your filthy hands off me, I'm awake' I retorted.

'Goddammit, girls, will you stop swearing so much, your mother would be disgusted.' My dad said, getting out the car. I stiffened slightly at the thought of my mother being disgusted with me and laughed the thought off, she would never. She loved me more than anything. I got out the car and looked at the view ahead. This was truly a beautiful sight.

Murder House, as everyone called it, had a sinister aura, I could almost feel the terror and pain the house had gone through. I did my research of this famous haunted house and I know what happened to all the previous residents, they all mostly died, up until 5 years ago. Every owner since late 2011 had left the house, maximum a week after living in it. It was definitely creepy, just my thing.

'Skye, Lia, let's go in.' My dad said, leading the way.

He unlocked the front door and we took a moment to fully appreciate how beautiful the hallway and staircase was. He led us into the kitchen and basically gave us a mini tour. The place astonished me every time. It's gonna take a while for me to get used to it's vast beauty. My dad had already let us choose our rooms so I went straight up to mine. I'd already sorta decorated my room, I just needed to put up my posters on the walls and hey presto, my room would be perfect. So I got to work.

'Dahlia, dad said dinner's almost ready and you should come down in 10 minutes.' Skye said, an hour later, coming into my room without knocking.

'I'll be down soon, and can you please learn to knock.' I replied.

'Yeah, whatever.' I heard her mutter as she left. I hung up the last poster, which was of Brendon Urie from Panic! At The Disco. Coincidentally, I Write Sins, Not Tragedies was playing on my stereo. I sang along as I stuck Brendon on my wall. I looked at my room, it was a pretty sight. I covered most of my room with various bands and hot male celebrities and some female one's too. I smiled and walked down stairs to the dining room. Dad had made pasta, which was easy and quick to make, but his one's always tasted fabulous. I sat down and tucked in, my dad told us about school, how we'd be starting next week. Skylar, as usual, was ecsatic to talk about school. She talked about how she's gonna join every academic and athletic club she could and boasted about how well she always did.

'Aren't you gonna join any extra curricular activites, Lee?' Dad asked.

'Probably join some music clubs, I don't know,' I shrugged as I shoved more pasta in my mouth. Skye laughed. My dad contained his laughter.
