~Scott~

There were a lot of strange moments in Scott McCall's life. A lot. For most people, they'd consider it too much, but Scott continued on with his best efforts. All he could ever do were give his best efforts, and currently, he couldn't find himself thinking his efforts amounted to much. Losing Allison had everything to do with it, too. Still, waking up and suddenly being at school was a first for him. It seemed empty, quiet – completely wrong.

There was no sun, but the lights were on as if to make up for the lack of natural light. Scott looked around in confusion, looking down one hallway to his side, then down the other. There was nothing there, and no one there, either. His enhanced hearing didn't even pick up on the tiniest sound. Not a gust of wind, not a sneaker screeching on the school's empty hallways. At least, not until he heard what sounded like a locker opening up. It wasn't much to go on, he knew that, but following it was the really his only option at the moment.

Scott walked quickly, though with a sense of uncertainty and caution as well. He heard some more noises, someone shuffling papers and putting books away. They were such typical and mundane sounds that sounded so unfamiliar at the moment. He knew he was getting closer as he neared a corner, and he felt his heart racing. There were three options for how this could go– he would find an enemy, he would find an ally, or he'd find nothing. Truthfully, he would have preferred one of the last two over the first. His part hardly played out that way, unfortunately.

Taking shaky breaths, Scott prepared to round the corner. He had to get himself prepared for whatever he would find, or not find. Over the last few years, he had quickly learned that better safe than sorry was a great way to go about life for the most part. Trusting others often came above that for him. Scott took one more step forward and rounded the corner to see what the sound was. As he had suspected, he found someone standing outside of a slightly opened locker. What he hadn't expected was for it to be...

"Allison," he whispered, eyes wide and body frozen in place. His mouth was slightly open, and to Scott, the sight was so shocking that he couldn't figure out what to do. This couldn't have been real, but it felt like it was. It felt like he could touch a locker and feel its cold surface. It even felt like he could run up and hug Allison. The only problem was that he couldn't get his legs to work in order to do it.

His breathing increased, and  the worst thing about this, was that Scott wasn't sure if it was all real or not. Considering the fact that last year, Allison had died..... This has a 0.002% chance of being real.

Allison stopped what she had been doing, and mirrored Scott. Her mouth slightly agape, she didn't move, feet rooted in place. Her eyes searched his face. Allison broke the silence first. "Scott, I- uh, I," she started to say, but seemed to change her mind and stopped.

Scott's legs started working again. He ran to Allison, not stopping, to wrap her in a big hug. He missed her so much.

But just before he could touch her, she dissipated and Scott ran right through where Allison was standing -- and right into a locker. He fell to the floor, holding his nose and covering his face. When he took his hand down and opened his eyes, he was in his room.

So, this took me a while to write and a million google searches to make sure I was using the right descriptive words, haha. :) But I'm pretty proud of this, because it's my first third-person (?) au! I hope you liked it, and if you did,
