The last thing I remember feeling is Liam's claws digging into my chest in his complete and utter rage of Hayden's dying body. He refuses to believe it, and I accept my fate. This is it. And I close my eyes, and everything is black. Liam's roar of enragement echoes in my ears, and I'm dying by my own Beta. But soon Mason runs in, and tells Liam that Hayden's dead. I have no reaction. I don't have the strength to react. Then Theo runs in, digs his claws into my chest, and I accept defeat. Soon any sound ceases to exist at all, and I open my eyes.

I'm lying on Allison's bed, in Allison's room, and I see Allison sitting on the corner of her bed, staring at me and looking very much worried. "Allison?" I say as I sit up. Now we're almost as close as we were when she last broke up with me. "What happened? Where am I?"

"You can't - you're - you're not supposed to be here, Scott. Not yet." She says quietly, a tear rolling down her cheek.

"I'm... dead?" I ask, a feeling of emptiness swallowing me whole.

"His-his claws went so deep, you were-you were so weak. But you're an Alpha, Scott. You're too strong to die." Allison stutters.

"Did - did I let Theo win?" I ask, wanting to wake up from this horrible nightmare.

"He hasn't won, Scott. Not yet. You still have time, you have a chance - you have to leave me. This wasn't how it was supposed to go." Allison says confidently, but her voice falters at the last word. I don't want to go, I don't want to leave her. I miss her, every day. And although I'm with Kira, I know I will never love her as much as I love - loved - Allison.

"But I can't leave you here alone." I say, the emptiness inside me filling with sadness.

"There will be a time when you will see me again, I promise." Allison says, almost touching me, but not quite. I stroke her cheek, not wanting to leave. "It just can't be now. You have to get the pack back together. Please, Scott, do it for me." She says, a pleading finality to her voice.

Time seems to slow. I kiss Allison, her soft lips relenting at first, but she kisses me. Long and slow, like she's been waiting for this chance. It's Allison that pulls away first. A tear runs down her cheek.

"Do you hear that, Scott?" She asks me. "Listen." Her voice is soft, not questioning, like she's been hearing it since I've been here.

'1..2...3.. Come on. 1...2...3! Come on, Scott, COME ON!' a familiar female voice yells. It's very faint, coming from somewhere else. 'He's - he's been dead for fifteen minutes. You can't bring back someone who hasn't taken a breath for fifteen minutes.' A male voice says softly, almost as if the person behind that voice doesn't want to admit it. 'Not Scott. Scott doesn't die. He fights.' The female voice persists.

"Mom?" I ask, tears welling in my eyes. I feel a faint pushing on my chest, like someone is trying to perform CPR.

Allison nods, tears forming in her own eyes and rolling down her cheeks. "Scott, they need you. Mason, and Liam, STILES. And most of all, your mother. You can't let her lose you. GO."

Allison's room fades to black, and I'm floating through darkness with a faint memory of Allison's voice commanding, "GO." And I will.

Then, I hear, 'Roar, Scott. ROAR!'

And I do. I snap my eyes open with a huge growl escaping my throat, and I jolt up, sitting, then collapse. But I'm breathing. Mason jumps back, eyes wide with bewilderment. My mom collapses on my chest, crying, softly saying, "Thank you, Scott. Thank you."

You're welcome, I think. You're welcome, mom. And you're welcome, Allison. A memory of her smile spreads across my mind, and I know I've done the right thing for her, and somewhere, she's smiling at me.

Okay, guys. Writing this had me in tears. I'm not sure what to do for my next AU, but I'll think of something.
