"I want to see him."
"I understand that Aspen but we need to do a couple of tests before we-"
"I want to see him."
Liam's stepfather sighed loudly, putting his hands to his temples. There was a moment of frustrated silence as Aspen sat in the hospital bed, demanding to see Liam. Admittedly, she was being a bit stubborn in front of the father of the boy she liked, but she couldn't help it. She had seen Lydia, her mom, Scott, even Stiles, who had a concussion and was being kept in a separate room.
But not Liam.
"Aspen," the doctor sighed, "I know you want to see him, and trust me, he wants to see you too. I had to drag him home last night.."
That made Aspen smile a little, knowing he wanted to see her.
"But I promise, as soon as the tests are done you can-"
"Dad?"
Liam's head appeared in the doorway and her face lit up. "Liam."
"Aspen." Liam immediately ran over to her, tangling his hands in her knotted blonde hair, burying his head in her neck. She squeezed his shoulders so hard she was almost sure she left bruises. Liam's stepdad sighed in defeat off to the side, mumbling under his breath as he left the room.
"Are you okay-"
"I'm fine," she whispered, pulling him back to her when he tried to stand up, "Just.. Don't go." He smiled a little and hugged her back. She squeezed her eyes shut, taking a deep sniff of his jacket and his smell- like spearmint and vanilla.
"I.. I should probably let your dad do those tests.." she blushed when Liam started getting cramps from bending down. "Uh yeah.. I'll let Hayden and Mason know," he replied, squeezing her hand.
"They're here?" Liam nodded. "Send them in, stupid!" she swatted his arm playfully and he fake winced, leaving the room.
Not five seconds later, Aspen heard the click of heels mixed with the squeak of sneakers. She watched as Hayden and Mason stomped in, Hayden chomping away on a piece of pink Hubble Bubble.
"Listen babe," Hayden dead-panned, "A little piece of advice- do not go into nut houses like Eichen. Val's been in there twice for police interrogations and look at her now- scarred for life."
Babe?
Aspen scoffed playfully as Hayden say down at the foot of her bed. "Hey," she exclaimed, "My future brother-in-law was in Eichen." Hayden furrowed her brow and Mason spoke up. "Why were you in there anyway?"
All humor gone, Aspen froze up. "I-I..."
Just then, Dr. Dunbar walked in, a couple nurses behind him, and, luckily, interrupted their conversation. "Sorry to interrupt," he said, "But we need to run some tests before we can let her go. It shouldn't take long." Mason and Hayden left, a little reluctantly, and went to wait in the hall with Liam.
Saved by Daddy Dunbar, she laughed to herself.

"You literally just got out of the hospital," Chris Argent dead-panned upon seeing Aspen walk into his gun warehouse, "What the heck are you doing here?"
Aspen smiled at him and replied, "I felt bad about skipping the other day.." He arched a gray eyebrow at her.
"Normally I wouldn't recommend combat training right after receiving two sets of stitches," he said, walking over to a secluded door nearby, Aspen trailing behind, "But you're pretty tough." He unlocked the door with a set of keys, letting it swing open to reveal a whole closet full of any weapon you could imagine.
