Standing watching the cold water hit my frosted window, outside looked so dim and dull everything looked that way. It felt as if all the warmth and brighness went in the world along with you.
I was that focused on watching the tiny droplets of water hitting the window I didn't notice my whole family go out, in fact I never even heard the door close behind them.
Focusing again on the droplets I slowly began to watch my window completely frost over leaving both my eyes nothing to stare at any longer.
I turned away heading from the living room into the kitchen, until a loud bang caught my attention. I looked back expecting to see a bouble on the floor that had fell off our huge christmas tree, but once again my attention was brought to the frosted window and the hand print that had appered right in the middle of it.
Stepping away from the window I took a deep breath, my heart then began to race so fast that it felt as though it was going to pump its way out of my chest. I widened my eyes and scoured the room in order to find something else that was perculer or out of place, when realised I was failing to find something else I turned my attention back to the window were the hand print could no longer be seen.
'I'm going loopy' I thought to myself as I shook my head in confusion.
Giving the window one last glance before I walked out of the room, still no hand print.
"I must have just imagined it" I reasured my self "Yep thats all it was my over active imagination."
As the rest of the day went by, every little noise that I heard sent me into panic mode, the hours that my family were out, felt like days. All I wanted was to just no longer be alone, the sight of my own shadow put me on edge.
---
A week went by and the dull, dim world seemed to have gained some brightness. Looking at myself in the mirror I realised that it werent only the world that had gained brightness, my skin had went from being pale to slowly gaining its old orginal colour. For the first time in months I was finally begining to forget, to sleep at night again, to be normal.
I continued to gaze at my face in the mirror, touching it, feeling its warmth then I began looking down at the rest of my body, raising my head my eyes passed my arms, focusing my self on the thousands of goose bumps that had began to appear on them. Rasing my head even more to look at my face again.
Chills ran through my body as I saw a hooded boy standing behind me, the brightness that my skin had gained had gone again, the air around me was cold as I breathed out the breath came out my mouth like a cloud of smoke it slowly raised higher disapeering into the the ceeling above me. Turning my body half way to meet the face of the hooded boy, I found myself even more shocked when he wasn't there.
In a state of panic I ran around the house searching every room, "He's got to be here." I told myself. Rushing into the lounge I heard my mothers voice calling behind me "Cassie, why aren't you ready for school?" she sounded slightly let down. "Do you need more time off?". "No mom, I'm fine." shouted as I darted up the stairs, I only had twenty minutes to get ready and I needed to look as normal as possible. I've not been to school for months, not since the death of Tyler, Tyler was my boyfriend, gosh I miss him. He died in a fire along with his parents, I was the only surviver.
Flashback!
The heat of the flames grew closer to me so hot I felt as though my skin was going to start melting, The screams of Tyler's mom entered my ear drums causing me to cry. I heard banging on the door, picking my body up wth the little energy I had left and walked to the door. "Cass!" it was Tyler, "Cassie try and open the door!" he started to cough, I could hear him gasping for breath. "Tyler! It's jammed!" I began to cry, pushing and pushing it the door just wouldn't budge. Hitting and kicking it wth frustration as I heard Tylers cough grow louder and harsher. Pulling the handle towards me once last time with all my strength the door finally opened, I fell to the floor hitting my head on the corner of the bed.
