"Lea dear."

My grandmother sighed from the other side of the oak wood door."Amelia Rose Jefferson please come out we have to discuss this." She pleaded with me once more.

"Grandmother there is nothing to discuss I'm not going to get married to some guy I've never even met!" I opened the door to face her.

She was a petite little lady with thin blonde hair, if you saw her from a distance you might think she was frail but once you saw her bold green eyes you instantly knew differently.

"Dear he's a prince, he's been a friend of our family for years and he's quite handsome." She tried to reason with me further but I wouldn't have it.

"Grandmother I'm only 16! You can't expect me to marry him at 16, plus he's probably some snobby rich prince who doesn't care about anyone but himself!" I turned my back to her and sat down on my four post bed.

"Well we will find out tomorrow because I will be meeting with his father for lunch to discuss the arrangements. And your coming with me to get to know him."

As soon as my grandmother shut the door I grabbed my phone and texted Pheobi, my best friend."Hey we need to talk can you meet me in 'The Spot' at 11?"I sent the text then went to my closet to find something to wear for lunch tomorrow.

'Knock knock'

"Yes!"

I yelled from my in-suite bathroom to whoever was knocking on my door.

"Miss?"My maid said as she pushed the door open. "Miss it's time for dinner are you almost ready?"

"Yes I'm almost ready and thank you for reminding me Sarah but please call me Lea." I smiled warmly as I walked through the door of the bathroom in a pale link vintage dress with lace trim.

"your welcome Mi-Lea, you look very beautiful tonight I'm sure your grandmother must be extremely happy to have you as a granddaughter."

I sighed, if only she new just how much I've let Grandmother down. "Yes, she must be so proud."

"Goodnight dear."

"Goodnight Grandmother."

I climbed up the staircase that lead from the dining room to the upstairs sweets.

As I entered my room I flung myself on my bed.

"Ahhhh! finally I can relax!"

I grabbed my phone and checked the time, 8:45. That means I have about 3 hours until I have to meet Pheobi. That gives me just enough time for a nap. I set a timer on my phone then snuggled into the plush maroon comforter and drifted into dreamland.

'Beep, beep, beep'

My alarm blared as I lay there, confused for a minute about why my timer was going of when it was still dark then I remembered, the Prince, Pheobi, Grandmother, Marriage. Just the thought of it gave me goosebumps, and not the good kind. With my luck he's probably going to be some ugly, snobby, rich kid with no personality and a big mole on his chin! Now isn't the time to think about that I need to go!

I hurried to my balcony and searched for the light that would alert me that Pheobi was here.I looked to the left, where the garden and outlying forest was, and saw a small pinpoint of light near the spot where the garden met the forest.

Quickly, I quietly made my way down the grand staircase and thought the side door that led to the garden. There I quickly put on my button down coat and thick, fur snow boots since it was a bit chilly outside and probably about to snow then stopped for a second to grab a second jacket since I knew Pheobi's probably wasn't warm enough.

As I made my way through the garden towards the forest I tried to find a way to tell Pheobi about this situation. How about "Hey Pheobi! Your 16 year old best friend whom you have known since childhood is getting married to some Prince who's name she doesn't even know!" Or maybe just "Guess who's getting married!!".

When I got to the edge of the forest I whisper-yelled Pheobi's name.

"Pheobi? Pheobi where are you?"

"Right here!" She whisper yelled back.

"Where?"

"Up here silly!"

I looked above me up into the large oak tree and didn't notice anything until I heard a sneeze.

"what are you doing up there?" I say as Pheobi climbs down swiftly.

"I thought I heard a guard." She said laughing and wiping the dirt off of her hands.
