The raven haired boy sat cross-legged on the leather sofa back stage. He had his eyebrows furrowed in frustration, his lips formed in a thin frown. His bandmates noticed his forlorn expression and purposely didn't ask upon it, he had the expression plastered across his features far too often to induce any of them to think much of it.
He let out a heavy sigh, watching his friends in the corner of his eye, inwardly wishing for one of them to ask him what was wrong.
"What is it?" the lavender haired girl gave in eventually, crossing her arms, "Did you shit yourself on stage again and only notice now? I wouldn't get too worked up. Y'know, people would pay good money for your poop. Your shit is like gold. Can we consider this as our next merchandise idea?"
Yuu frowned further, not receiving his anticipated reaction. His emerald eyes narrowed into slits, focusing on the girl he knew as Shinoa. She stood before him, baring an innocent smile.
"I'm serious." Yuu explained, trying to make his tone as pissed off as possible. Shinoa was his only option out of all his friends to talk to, he presumed the others were all heading for their showers. He felt rather uncomfortable himself, his damp t-shirt clinging to his toned torso in an uncomfortable fashion, but he had other priorities lingering in his mind.
"What's wrong?" She asked finally, cocking her said to the side.
"The blonde one in the crowd," Yuu murmured, "The one that got mobbed."
A smirk crept onto Shinoa's face as she flung herself onto the couch beside him. She held her face up in the palm of her hands, staring up at Yuu in a way that just managed to tick him off. She tapped her cheek with her pointer finger knowingly.
"I see your jealous of him already. I knew this would happen," she sighed, but it didn't seem like she meant it.
"His name is Mika. He's a solo singer but he was in many bands previously. He's quite popular among the teenage girls right now, I mean, can you blame them?" She pulled a purposely over dramatic face, trying to express how dreamy the boy was. He swatted her away, deeming in her no way helpful to his case. She stood up, giggling to herself.
"You shouldn't beat yourself up just because he's cuter than you." And with that, she was gone. Yuu was still left feeling the exact same as before, angry.
I mean, what kind of celebrity shows up to another bands show with the worlds worst disguise and expect not to be noticed? Yuu suspected it was a publicity stunt, therefore deciding that this 'Mika' guy cared more for money than music, and that wasn't someone Yuu wanted to be associated with. He stood up, throwing a towel over his shoulder and headed towards the showers, time to himself he thought would be beneficial.
---
Yuu stared up at the ceiling of the tour bus. He could hear soft, distant snores as he analysed the wall pattern for what seemed to be the hundredth time. He had googled this Mika that night, discovering he had a thousand more twitter followers than he did. Yuu was not impressed. He had stupid fluffy blonde hair that anyone would be tempted to run their hand through and baby blue eyes. His face was elegant and beautiful. His ability to be perfect in everyway also pissed Yuu off. Everything about him irked Yuu. He knew himself it was jealously, or the fact that he was an unrealistic standard for the rest of humanity to live up to. He just didn't understand why he of all people would watch them play, what did he gain from it? Was it all purposely done to disrupt the show? Yuu couldn't quite put his finger on it. From what Yuu had seen after researching him, he came across as a pretty decent guy. He often did charity work and spoke out society issues that need to be fixed. He could just have possibly came...because he genuinely wanted to? Yuu preferred that idea, it gave him a boost of confidence almost. Who wouldn't be flattered by someone that popular and pretty taking interest in them? Then again, he could've showed up for Shinoa and Mitsuba. It was a common in the media these days, celebrities getting in relationships just as an album was being released for promotional purposes. However, Yuu didn't agree with this, even though he had been offered multiple times.
Yuu's found buzzed in his pocket, driving his attention away from his thoughts and back into reality. He blinked sheepishly at the screen, squinting to make out the tiny font displayed in front of him. He wasn't positive to what the words were but he was almost sure.
@mikaela_hyayuka followed you!----
"I feel like that was a bad idea." Mika mumbled to himself, starting at the screen. Of course, he anticipated some sort of response, but he wasn't sure as to what.
"You gave it a try and that's what matters." A voice said behind him, placing their hand gently on his shoulders, patting it reassuringly. He shifted out of their grasp, wiggling back into a comfortable position on his bed, ignoring his friends gesture.
"I think it came across the wrong way." He uttered, chewing vigorously on his lip, enough to have the taste of metal pouring into his mouth. She sat cross legged on the floor, her brown hair falling over her face as she watched her friend in concern. He was just overthinking things, she knew that herself.
"Listen. You went to a show. You enjoyed the show. What's wrong with that?" She asked, shrugging her shoulders before falling back onto the carpet, sighing deeply, "You're acting like you held up a sign decorated with flashing lights and luminous font saying "I lowkey wanna fuck you" because then only then could it have come across the wrong way."
Mika rolled his eyes, only now noticing the pitter patter of rain flowing down the window pane. He watched it silently, in hopes of clearing his mind. It was already getting dark outside at the somewhat early hour, indicating the beginner of winter. Snow was bound to fall, at least, he hoped.
"I don't want come across too strong, plus, I don't know whether he's straight or not." Mika explained, trying to express his inner confliction the best way he possibly could, but she never seemed to understand. He fiddled with his thumbs in thought, leaning his back against the headboard, it wasn't exactly comfortable, but he wasn't picky, either. He never really had a crush on anyone before, let alone a fellow celebrity. Of course everyone had heard the name Yuichiro, but it wasn't until he fully enveloped himself in his bands music that he became attached. He had never met Yuu, or even had an online conversation, but he new he had a crush on him. He was embarrassed by such childish emotions but he couldn't quite help it.
"Too strong? You're always way too direct Mika and we all know that. If you want something, you'll state it. If you've claimed something, you make it clear to everyone that it's yours, that's just how you are." She smiled, trying to make it no offensive, which didn't exactly work.
"I just don't like people having my things, that's all." he replied, knowing himself that what she claimed was nothing but the solid truth. But then again, no one can stop being who they are for someone else, the truth is always revealed eventually.
Mika's situation was a rather difficult one, whilst he lived in New York and Yuu lived in L.A.. Although, they both came from Japanese backgrounds, and Mika was half Russian. If distance wasn't enough, throw touring into the mix, throw the fans in while your at it, the hopes of Mika's wants becoming a reality were diminishing with a hasty pace. Yet, he didn't declare defeat nor did he plan to, he just didn't know where to start.
"What do I do...I mean, to make the first move?" He questioned, hoping for a response that wouldn't put him out of his comfort zone, which wouldn't be a lot of things, he was quite confident.
"Follow him on Twitter, do what celebrities normally do. Tweet about the show while your at it, just make it platonic eh? You know what they say, the tortoise always wins the race." She spoke, waving her finger around like she knew every ounce of information the universe had to offer.
"The tortoise only wins," he began, "if the hare is a fucking idiot."
She snorted in response, "I guess that's true."
Mika unlocked his phone, hesitantly clicking into the Twitter app. He waited quietly before he typed anything, running over worst case scenarios in his head.
"I did it." Akane smirked, showing her own screen to Mika. He snatched her phone from her, gawping at it in alarm.
"Since when did you have access to my account?!" He exclaimed, immediately logging her out and running over new passwords in his head. He didn't notice his heart pounding in his chest. What was the big deal of just following someone on Twitter anyway? It's not as if Yuu was lacking in followers.
"I've nervous seen you never Mika," Akane pointed out, "It doesn't suit you at all."
He ran his hand through his soft hair, not sure why he wasn't acting the way he was, either, it definitely wasn't his natural attitude towards things like this.
"You'll thank me for this one day." Akane warned, winkinga at her blue eyed friend. It was that very same moment a phone alarm notified Mika of a message.
