Boulderstar started down at his two kits, his stormy gaze softening for a split second before turning his attention to the gathered cats. "Cats of StoneForest! Hear our words!"
"Today, one of the most important ceremonies in a cat's life will take place. Three times." Oakstar padded up next to Boulderstar, her long brown and grey pelt smooth, like the calm before a storm. "Pricklepaw, step forward." Pricklepaw, a black and white tom with green eyes, trotted up to the great rock, looking both excited and nervous. Oakstar's amber eyes glittered kindly. "Don't worry. You'll be fine." She whispered. "Blightfall," Oakstar nodded to Pricklepaw's mentor. "Has your apprentice passed his assessment?"
"Indeed he has." Blightfall purred.
"Pricklepaw, do you promise to protect and serve your Clans, even at the cost of your life?" The grey and brown she-cat prompted.
"I do." Pricklepaw's voice did not waiver, not once did he even look nervous.
"Then, by the powers of StarClan, I name you Pricklepelt." She yowled. Pricklepelt ducked his head to lick the small leader's shoulder; he was already taller than she. The newly named warrior padded to the base of the rock. Rustpaw, a ginger tom glared at him through narrowed yellow eyes. Oakstar's gaze snapped to two other cats, a tom and a she-cat. "Antpaw and Beetlepaw, step forward." The siblings had wanted a joint ceremony. "Littledapple and Tallpelt, have these two cats passed their assessments?" She asked the mentors.
"I expected no less of Antpaw. She is ready." Littledapple mewed in her quaint voice.
"No," Tallpelt meowed steadily. All the cats turned to her. "Beetlepaw has exceeded his assessment. I could be no prouder than of my own kit." The Clans sighed in relief.
"Antpaw and Beetlepaw, do you promise to serve and protect your Clans, even at the cost of your lives?" Oakstar asked.
"I do." The cream-and-white she-cat mewed.
"I do." The silver tom answered.
"Then, by the powers of StarClan, I name you Antclaw and Beetlewing!"
"Pricklepelt! Antclaw! Beetlewing!" The Clan yowled to the sky. Rustpaw's voice was - by far - the quietest. Fallenkit nudged Hollowkit.
"Soon, we'll be apprentices." The calico whispered. Her brother nodded.
Sorry if this is boring, but it was needed for the plot. You'll see later.
