Burthday wish

"Alex..." I look up from under my eyelashes, God he is so beautiful! "Wes." I say back, "I...I..." he stutters. "Just spit it out Wes, whatever it is I'm sure it's fine," I grab his hands and look him truly in the eye, I now can see how nervous he really is. "What's wrong Wes? You're scaring me," I say as I squeeze his hand harder. "I...I love you Alex, no scratch that, I'm IN love with you!" I look at him with tears brimming my eyes and the words on the tip of my tongue but somehow not making their way out, I just kept staring. "Alex...Alex please say some thing," he pleaded, it was then that I finally snapped out of my daze. "I'm in love with you too Wes..." he smiled the biggest smile I had ever seem and he started to lean in, as did I. I closed my eyes... "Alex?" Wait what? " Alex!" I open my eye to see that my best friend Nick had taken the place of Wes. "Wes?" I asked confused, "Alex wake up!" What is he talking about? Everything started to go dark, "ALEX WAKE THE FUCK UP!" I open my eyes to bright lights, "HAPPY BIRTHDAY YOU BIG FAT WHALE!!" I groaned as I sat up. "What time is it?" "It's time for you to wake up stupid," he said while pulling me out of bed. "Nick I am literally going to kill you," giving him the stink eye. "Too bad you love me too much, now come on I have a surprise for you!" He said while walking out of my room.
  I get up and walk to my bathroom to brush my teeth and I looked at myself in the mirror. I was so lucky to have Nick as a friend, because with out him I would be all alone... ever since I came out to my parents as pansexual he has been the only family I have. They kicked me out, I can't believe they did that. Tears started to sting my eyes as I looked down, when I told Nick he and I bought an apartment together and have been living here ever since. A few tears escaped as I started to silently weep, "Alex..." I just and wipe the remaining tear as I turn around to face the one person who has been there for me. "hey I'll be down in a minute," I say with a small smile. "Alex... you know it's not you... they are idiots," he said as he wraps his arms around me. We sat there for a while before he pulled away, "now come, I have something for you." He said as he took my hand and walked downstairs into the kitchen. He lets go and moves aside where there is a cake with 17 candles on it. "Oh Nick... thank you, I love it," I say as I walk up to the cake. "Go on... make a wish and blow out the candles," I look at him then look at the cake thinking of what to wish for. Blowing them out a smile and look at Nick again, " can we eat it now?" I say looking at him hopefully. "Not just yet," and I see him pull out an envelope out of his back pocket. I take it from him with a smile and open it... inside are two plane tickets to New York. "Nick! You didn't! How did you afford this?" I say as I jump for joy. "with magic," he did twiddling his fingers in the air, "and I heard from a little birdy that Wes Tucker will also be in New York at the same time.... something about a meet and greet and whatnot." He said looking away, I jumped up and down screaming. I ran in jumped on him, "thankyouthankyouthankyou" I said. I stopped and looked at him, "how did you know?" I said puzzled, "how did I know what?" He said looking at me confused. "How did you know that THAT was my birthday wish..."
