Chapter 2: Plan In Motion

*Kendall's POV*

I sipped my drink at the bar absent mindedly when I could feel someone's presence near me. I turned my head to see the youngest member at my side. Oh my god he looked incredible. It was so hard to just concentrate on my mission, he made that seem impossible for me. He was wearing a snapback, casual shirt and chinos, his outfit was so simple yet he looked so good

*Nathan's POV*

"Hiya" I said, scratching the nape of my neck. Damn I hated started the conversation, I felt so awkward just going up to a random girl who I didn't even know. Her face suddenly broke into a smile as she said "Hi" back. So far, so good. "Can I buy you a drink?" I asked her, trying to act all casual about it. "Um I've already got one" she said with a slight smile. I looked down at her half full drink. She saw my reaction and burst out laughing. Damn, blown out the water at the attempt of my first catch up line, I really was rubbish with girls. "You can buy me another one if you like though" a grin playing on her lips. I asked the barman to get her a refill on me and as he did, I was determind to have another go at winning her over.

*Kendall's POV*

His failed catch up line was so cute, it made him even more irresistible. By this time, Emily had left my side to go on the dance floor as her favourite song had just come on. This gave me more of an oppurtunity to have a better conversation with this guy. "So what's your name then?" he asked me. "Kendall, you?"

"Nathan" he said, by this tme my refill had arrived in front of me. "Thanks..Nathan" I smiled appreciative of the free drink. I sipped it slowly while looking into Nathan's eyes. And that's when he bit his lip. OH MY GOD.

*Nathan's POV* 

The way she looked up at me while biting the straw of her drink drived me crazy. I really couldn't just let her go after tonight and never hear from her again. "Do you wanna come and sit with me and my mates at our table?" I asked nervously. I suppose this was one way of spending more time with her. "Yeah sure why not?" she smiled sweetly at me and I was taken aback. No girl had ever said yes to me, wow first time for everything.

*Kendall's POV* 

He looked slightly shocked when I had said yes to him, as if that was the last answer he was expecting. I almost forgot about the reason why I was here, but yet it was so easy to just keep it at the back of my mind for now. Besides, my job for now was getting close and friendly to the boys.

I followed slightly behind Nathan as he led me to the table where his bandmates were. As we approached the table even closer, I could see that the rest of the boys had some female company with them. 3 girls sat at their table also, getting quite cosy to what seemed to look like their boyfriends. I could see that the curly haired one didn't have a girl with him.

"Boys, I want you to meet Kendall" Nathan said, the boys and their girlfriends looked up at me and said a chorus of Hey's and What up's. "Kendall, these are my bandmates. Jay, Max, Siva and Tom." Nathan signalled to each guy as he said their name. The bald one, Max said to Nathan "Cor Nath, you sure do pick the ladies up quick don't ya?" The other boys sniggered and Nathan rolled his eyes, obviously Max had used a bit of sarcasm there. 

"And these are the girls!" Nathan said, signalling to the three girls sitting in between the boys. "Sophie, Brooke and Chloe. Sophie is Max's girlfriend, Brooke is Tom's girlfriend and Chloe is Siva's" They all smiled and said hello to me and they all seemed nice. So these were the people I had to befriend. This should be fun.

"In case you haven't noticed, Jay is a single pringle right now" Tom said in his deep voice. I turned to look at Jay who only just told Tom to shut up. "Now, now boys, behave" said Siva, as if he was their dad. The girls just rolled their eyes at the boys' usual behaviour. Boys will be boys. I mentally counted them all while they were engolfed in their own conversations with each other, 5 boys and 3 girls to kill. Quite a big mission this was. 

Just as I was about to sit down, Emily stood beside me, back from her little dancing outburst. "Guys I also have someone to introduce to you, this is my best friend Emily." Everyone said hi to her and by the looks of Jay's face he had seemed to take a liking to Emily quite quickly. That would make this mission situation more easier. 

"Jay you might not be a single pringle for long now that Emily's here" Tom said but this time Jay just ignored him and Emily went and sat with Jay. She was probably thinking that becoming Jay's girlfriend would simplify our task much more, this was going well so quickly.

*Nathan's POV* 

We all squeezed around the table, it was a bit squashed because Kendall and Emily had joined our little group but we couldn't care less. The night from there was extremely positive, I had a few dances with Kendall, luckily I didn't embarrass myself with my awful dance moves too much. This really could be my night!

Jay and Emily had REALLY hit it off by the looks of things. They had a few cheeky snogs with each other when they thought no one was looking. I, on the other hand, was a bit too unsure as to whether or not kiss Kendall, I mean, I had only known her for a few hours and if I did I might have put her off me. I have no idea why she hasn't yet. Jay was just being Jay, he had got wasted as usual and couldn't keep his hands, or lips, off Emily. They looked like they were having a good time though so that's all that mattered right now. 

*Kendall's POV* 

It was about 4 in the morning now and the nightclub was starting to close down. We all left to go outside where it was just starting to rain. "Its raining men!" Max and Jay were singing, taking their tops off and throwing them around. "Hallelujah, its raining men!" Tom decided to join in and it was hilarious to watch. Nathan stayed next to me and didn't join in and neither did Siva, Chloe, Brooke or Sophie. He didn't seem crazy like the other boys and didn't take his top off, I wish he did though...damn don't think like that Kendall, you're on a mission for goodness sake, pull yourself together!

*Nathan's POV*

It seemed that after Max, Tom and Jay's little performance it would be time for us to go and for the girls to go home. I really didn't want Kendall to leave, she had kept me entertained the whole night and had made me laugh. I tried my second tactic of the night by asking for her number. I was completely shocked when she said yes, damn I felt like Jesus right now! I typed her number into my iPhone and she did the same with my number (on her own phone of course.) I had also noticed that Emily and Jay were doing the same phone exchanging strategy. I gave Kendall a quick peck on the cheek just before the three boys had composed themselves in public and put their clothes back on. We all said goodbye to each other and parted our separate ways: Kendall and Emily in one direction and the rest of us in the other. The boys had their arms around their girlfriends, then there was just me and Jay at the end, thinking about what had happened tonight. 

I couldn't believe that I had got a girl's number, this was big for me! Usually a girl has to take one look at me and think "Ew, he's gross" but not tonight baby, I was on a roll! 

*Kendall's POV*

Me and Emily walked back home arm in arm. "Well tonight was a success!" Emily said. "Me and Jay really were hitting it off, its a shame we have to kill him eh?" Just her saying that made my stomach go over. I really didn't want to do this and carry out our mission. "Emily, I think I love Nathan" I blurted out. I looked to see Emily's reaction and she was clearly shocked.

"What?!" she exclaimed. "You've only met him tonight and you already love him?! You're a weird one you really are Kendall." I rolled my eyes and said "Well you must have some feelings for Jay by the rate you two were going at."

Emily smiled before saying "Well yeah but its only just a set up K, for our mission remember?" I could not do this mission, it would hurt so much to kill Nathan and the others in the horrible and horrific way in which we were told to by our stupid boss. "Well maybe I don't wanna carry on with this mission anymore.." I said slowly. Emily dropped her mouth but said nothing. As we reached the door of our shared apartment I smiled to myself as the image of Nathan's face appeared in my mind. His face was everywhere to be seen in my dreams that night, as soon as my head hit the pillow to the moment I opened my eyes in the morning. I don't care if I get punished for not completing my mission, I wanted Nathan. And it wasn't just because I had to pretend to, I really did.
