Laurel doesn't go to Frank's apartment that night, now that she's got these plans with Kan. It doesn't seem all that bad, though. She feels that she could like him if she was given the chance. Going on one dinner date with a sweet guy isn't going to kill her, and she knows that. It's just, she likes where things are going with Frank, and doesn't want it to end so she can start an engagement with a guy she doesn't know anything about.
"Hi," Kan greets when he sees her at the restaurant. He smiles, and reaches over to take her hand and kisses it gently. "You look lovely, Laurel."
"Thank you," she smiles at him, and sits down across from him at the table. "You look very handsome."
Kan knows he's happy. He feels lucky just sitting here with this girl, and the thought that she's going to be his fiancé and soon wife excites him. He can get used to seeing this face everyday.
"I'm really glad you agreed to come to dinner with me," Kan tells her. "I was seriously worried you weren't interested. I would be disappointed if you weren't interested. I want this to work."
Laurel nods her head. Although she isn't sure of anything, she responds and says, "Me too."
"You don't know what a relief it is to hear that," Kan chuckles. "I just have to ask: you're completely available, right? There aren't any other guys you'd rather be with?"
Laurel bites her lip. Everything will be over if she confesses that she slept with another guy the night before, and definitely has feelings for him, too. She can't tell him that. She can't tell the guy she's supposed to marry.
"No," Laurel lies. "I haven't been with anybody in a while, actually. My parents made it clear they were going to be arranging the marriage, so why even bother?"
Kan pressed his lips together.
"But, you," he begins, "you want this, right? I made it clear that I don't want to be a part of anything that isn't mutual. Marriages are about mutual trust and love. My parents have a beautiful, healthy marriage, and I would like for us to have the same, but I think we can only achieve this if we're both all in."
"I'm the one that came to see you. I thought that made it clear," she says, shrugging her shoulders.
Kan smiles.
"Laurel, you're wonderful," he comments, gazing at her sweetly.
"You're not so bad yourself," she jokes.

The dinner ends pretty late. Kan wants to spoil her all throughout: he makes sure she gets so much food she feels stuffed, and any desserts she wants. She feels bloated when Kan drops her at her place, but nonetheless, she still goes to Frank's apartment. She knows it's much later than he was expecting, and she also didn't call to inform him, but she knows Frank won't be angry with her for it. He's usually easygoing with her.
He does answer her knocking at the door, but he's wearing his boxers and a black wife-beater shirt. He yawns lazily and rubs his eyes when he opens the door, but immediately wakes himself up when he sees Laurel standing there.
"Didn't think you were gonna show any time tonight," Frank tells her. "I thought I bored you already."
"No way," Laurel laughs, and goes on her tiptoes to kiss him briefly. "You know, I wanted to be here."
"Well, that's a nice way to wake up from my sleep," he smiles genuinely. "But if you wanted to be here so badly, what kept you?"
"Dinner with my fiancé!" Laurel exclaims with mock-enthusiasm, and Frank's perky expression drops.
"You're engaged?" he asks.
"Well, it's not official. I don't want it to be official. But my mom forced me to make amends with him, so I went to apologize, and he asked me out to dinner. I didn't even want to go, trust me. I just couldn't say no, or else my parents would kill me," Laurel explains. "I really, really just wanted to come here."
"I believe you, calm down," he rolls his eyes. "But, you better make it up to me." He looks at her suggestively.
"You just woke up from your sleep and you're awake enough to...?" she asks, raising her eyebrows.
"Nah, I'm not. I'm still tired, but you seem to be awake. I'm sure you can piece it together and make it up to me," he flirts, and takes her hands.
He leads her back to his bed. Once they're there, their lips meet for a short kiss. She happily obliged to his request as they move further back on the bed towards his pillows. Once settled, she pulls his boxers down and grasps his member.
"Shit, Laurel," he mumbles when she touches him like that.
He lays flat on the bed, and Laurel climbs between his legs. She takes his member into her mouth and gives him an unforgettable experience.
