I walk into pre-calculus for fourth period, excited to finally be able to speak with Alice. Hopefully today will be easier than yesterday. She is leaning back in her seat, her right ankle propped up on her left knee. He is tapping her foot on the ground; probably to the song playing through the ear buds n her ears. She takes one of her ear buds out and grins as I sit next to her.

"Miss me?" she asks, flipping her hair over her shoulder.

"Of course?" I tease, placing my hand on my chest and throwing my head back.

We pull out our notebooks  and pencils just as the bell rings.

The plastic tip of Alice's pencil presses into my arm. I look up and find her staring at me, her bottom lip between her teeth and her eyes bright with excitement.

As she speaks, her voice comes out much calmer than I would have expected, "So, I was thinking; I don't have plans this weekend and i could really use some help with painting my room. You up for a sleepover?"

A grin breaks across my face, "Yeah, sounds great!"
