A girl is sitting at a table, reading. When a boy nudges her book. The boy asks, if he can sit down? Yes, you can. May I ask what your name is? The boys says, My name is Kane and your name m'lady? My name is Zoé, says the girl.
That's a beautiful name, Kane says. Thank you. Your name is nice, the girl responds. Thank you. I sit behind you in social studies.
Waiter comes and says, What may I get you two?
Zoé says, I would like a coffee with extra creme please.
Kane says, I would like a water please.
Waiter says, It will be out shortly.
I think you do sit behind me, Zoé says as she continues to read more. What book are you reading, Kane says. He moves the book, so he can see the cover. Pride and Prejudice, that's a really good book. I like it.
Zoé is focusing on her book and not listening.
You are very focused on that book.
Oh, yeah. I just want to see how it ends. As you said, it is a really good book.
The waiter brings the drinks out and says, here is the drinks you two ordered. I hope you enjoy. Kane kindly pays for the drinks.
Well, I must get going. I will see you in social studies tomorrow. Have a good day, Kane says. Okay, I will see you tomorrow. Goodbye Kane, says Zoé.
The next day, Zoé goes into social studies but Kane isn't there. Zoé thinks that maybe he is sick and will be back later on in the week, but he still doesn't show up. She doesn't see Kane for another two years.
