Autumn's POV- *this chapter deals with a flashback that may be triggering. If you are uncomfortable skip the italic part*
listen to Two Men In Love by The Irrepressibles while reading !!!!!!!
I know they aren't two men in love but it makes the chapter. Also not going to lie- I listened to Don't Let Me Go by my love Harry Styles so feel free to listen to that as well.
"What are you doing?" I ask Harry feeling very impatient.
"You can look now." He responds, his voice soft and hesitant.
My eyes widen as I read the three words he spelt out on the board.
LET'S RUN AWAY.
"So what do you say?" He asks hopefully.
"Yes." I say before I can even stop myself.
"We won't actually run away, just for tonight. I know a really pretty, and peaceful spot just about a ten minute walk away." He smiles at me, so softly my heart melts.
"Sounds wonderful." I smile back.
"Okay. I'll grab us some blankets and we can head out." I smile at how happy he is that I agreed.
I know he hurt me, and he hurt me badly but something about him just makes me feel so happy. I don't want to give up on him just yet. Everyone deserves a second chance.
He returns shortly with a large red and black plaid blanket.
"Ready?" He asks, to which I nod my head.
"You know you're one of the few people I've ever brought to my special spot." He grins flashing his dimples at me.
"I must be special then." I laugh quietly.
"Very special." He whispers looking down at me, his eyes soft, and sparkling with admiration.
The walk is silent and I take the time to admire just how beautiful the outdoors are at night. The stars shine bright and high in the sky and the moon casts a glow of light on the path ahead of us. I'm shaken from my thoughts by Harry's hand slowly intertwining with my own.
I look up at him and he continues to stare straight ahead. I lean into him to signal that I'm alright with him holding my hand.
A small sigh of relief leaves his lips causing me to giggle lightly.
"Here we are." He says pointing to a large white alder tree with a large grassy area to lie down around. The sky is visible through the canopy of the tree. It is truly beautiful.
"Coming?" He asks snapping me out of my daze.
"Here lie down." He smiles patting the blanket next to him.
I lie down and turn on my side so I'm facing him. The question I've been dying to ask him itches in the back of my mind. I need to know if I'm going to move on from the past. I won't be able to do if I don't have answers.
"Harry?" I ask slowly. He hums in response and looks up with his vibrant green eyes to meet my dull blue ones.
"Why did you ditch me the night of the dance?" His eyes wide in response to my question and I raise my eyebrows awaiting an answer.
He lets out a deep breath before opening his mouth to talk.
"I honestly never even liked Grey. I made some stupid mistakes-" I roll my eyes.
"Let me finish." He says in a pressed tone.
"As I was saying, I made some stupid mistakes. When I saw Grey coming up to your locker that first day after I had been an asshole to you, I don't know why but I wanted to make you jealous. So I flirted with Grey, I knew you two didn't like each other. School gossip made it clear you guys were once friends but no longer were. That was my first mistake. As for the dance... Well I guess I'll have to tell you the whole story in order for you to understand." He sighs running a hand through his hair.
