Happy thanksgiving! I am thankful for each and every one of my lovely readers/followers. Hope you all have an amazing holiday.

On with the chapter!

Gray's POV

"Alright, Lucy, it's official. My life is over."

Lucy's voice cracked over the phone as she laughed. "Oh no," She said bemusedly, "What happened this time?" I could practically see her eyebrows rising as I flopped on my unmade bed.

"So something happened after the assembly this morning and I'm completely freaking out over it," I babbled, staring up at the empty ceiling.

"What the hell did you do, Gray?" Lucy deadpanned. "I swear, if you're calling me from the back of a police cruiser right now..."

I cut her off before she finished her sentence. "You have no chill, woman."

"You're right. I'm bursting at the seams to know what you did. Really. So get on with it and tell me before I spontaneously combust."

Ignoring her unnecessary sarcasm, I worried my bottom lip with my teeth and exhaled.

"Gray? You still there?" Lucy called, in a world far away on the other line.

I shook my head to snap out of whatever internal reverie I fell into, and sighed again. "So I..." I trailed off and began to mumble the last few words, embarrassed. I flushed from euphoria and a bit of shame as the memory resurfaced.

"What?" Lucy gasped exasperatedly. "Spit it out!"

I didn't even stutter when I finally worked up the courage to speak, which surprised me. "I kissed The Black Angel."

Lucy began to chuckle, but then it turned into full-blown laughter, like the mad scientists do. "Alright, so either you're kidding or I didn't hear you correctly, because what I just heard is you kissed the town superhero, and since that is completely out of possibility, clearly I need to go schedule a doctor's appointment to get my hearing checked. Actually, wait. that isn't completely out of possibility, considering your huge crush on him and the fact that you did run out of the auditorium right after he left, and I know how spontaneous you can be sometimes... Did you go straight for the butt touch?"

I blushed even harder after hearing her monologue. "Lucy, no! Be serious!"

"I am being serious!" She defended herself, feigning offense. "It's a valid question! But for real, you kissed him? Damn, Gray, way to go for what you want."

"Yeah well," I groaned, curling into a ball, "I totally have screwed things up now. I pulled away and ran off before I could even see what his reaction was. I have no idea what came over me, I have no idea what he's thinking, and I have no idea what I'm going to do now."

"Well for one, you won't know what he's thinking. You'd need mind reading powers to do that...." Lucy chuckled awkwardly before clearing her throat. "Anyway, I doubt he hated it unless he shoved you away or something. You need to give it more time and let fate take over."

"Yeah, you're right," I nodded, even though she couldn't see me do so. "I can't help but keep thinking about it, though. It's plaguing my mind. What is he doing to me?"
