Gavin's POV
I awaken from my dream, frantic and sweaty. Trying to recollect all that I had dreamt. Vivid images stain my brain as I hold my head in my hands. I try to figure out why this is happening but I don't have any logical or reasonable explanation for what's happening to me. I lay my head back, wrapping my arm around Crescent as I do. I speak to him as if he is my therapist.
"Why is this happening Cres?"
"Meeooooow."
"I've never held any attraction to him."
"Meow meow."
*Sigh* "I just don't understand what's happening to me."
"Meow."
"Try talking to him about it? Are you insane?! He'd laugh in my face and brush past me as he goes to joke with all of his guy friends."
"Meow?"
"Do you really think I should?"
"Meow..."
"If this continues, I will. You're always there for me bud. Thanks."
"Meow meow."
*Purrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr*
I slowly rise out of bed and use the restroom. Looking in the mirror after washing my hands I actually get a good look at myself. My eyes are sunken in like I've been missing sleep when in actuality, I've been asleep for almost twelve hours.
Why do I look like this?
I don't have any reason to believe that my appearance is based on my physical health so I brush it off like it's nothing. Walking back into my room, I start working on the outline for my paper. While writing, I slowly drift asleep on my desk.
*Dream World*
We're standing on a pier, looking over a beautifully clear lake. I look over and see him staring at me. I quickly blush and turn away. He grabs my chin and turns my head so we're looking into each other's eyes. Slowly, but surely, we lean in and...
"GAVIN!!!!!"
I jump up startled by the loud outburst only to reply with,
"WHAT!!!!"
I realize it was my dad and swiftly run into the kitchen where he's standing.
"Don't 'What' me, I told you last night to empty the dish washer and it's already 1:00 p.m."
"Sorry I fell asleep."
"That's not an excuse."
"Dad. I fell asleep."
"I don't care. It's your responsibility to empty this dishwasher."
"Okay dad. Whatever you say."
As I unload the dishwasher, I begin to recall the little dream I had.
We're we about to kiss? Well duh. But why?
After unloading the dishwasher, I let Crescent outside so he can wander around. I go to take a shower and think about what the hell is going on in my life right now.
My shower lasts about 30 minutes and I still have no explanation for the reason I'm having these dreams. Plopping back down on my bed, I decide to strike up a conversation with Jon, a senior that I'm kinda falling for.
G: hey
J: Hey
G: what's up?
J: Nm just kinda laying around. You?
G: same.
That's basically how the conversation begins and ends. It's so hard to have conversations with people over text message. You never know when they'll reply, if they'll reply, if they're ignoring you. With nothing else to do I decide to watch YouTube on my phone. Which doesn't end well because the wifi at my house sucks, since we live in the country, so I end up using like 4+ Gigs of my data.
It's now around 8 p.m. and I have literally nothing to do. I rummage around in the kitchen, looking for something to eat but to no prevail. I call my dad and ask if he can pick up some food on his way home.
"Hello."
"Hey can you pick up some food on your way home?"
"What do you want?"
"Really craving Chick-fil-a."
"Usual?"
"Usual."
I hang up the phone and start watching some recorded shows. I doze off in my sleep and have the same dream as earlier today, except we actually end up kissing and sitting on the docks with my head on his shoulder and his head resting against mine. I awaken with a startle when I hear the front door open.
"Did I scare ya?"
"Yea, I was asleep and the door freaked me out."
"Wussy, go grab the drinks."
"Wow, thanks."
As I get up to grab the drinks, I see Crescent jumping along the yard and call him to my side. After retrieving the drinks, I walk inside and close the door with Crescent right by my foot. I walk to set the drinks down and nearly trip over him.
This is gonna be one long weekend.
