Third person POV

It was Rachel's turn to shift as she turned 18 year 2018, July 11. Rachel stepped forward as she was sniffed by her shifted Luna as tradition to check if she was fertile, if she wasn't she wouldn't never have the opportunity to have children. As the Luna bowed and bit a mark into her right hip as a blessing for future kids everyone in the crowd, all the pack shifted.

Next the alpha stepped up and if he didn't find her worthy she would be cursed with painful shifts for the rest of her life. The alpha stepped up and smelled her aura, she was innocent. He latched straight onto her left hip and dug his teeth in further than his Luna's for he had to mark her on skin and bone. The alpha stepped back standing with his Luna again.

Now if the moon goddess found her worthy she would shift.

As everyone stood around waiting for Rachel to shift, she had no doubt. She would shift.

Suddenly a loud crack was heard and after bones popped, bone on bone scraped and muffled screams left her mouth she shifted.

She was also glad that after this shift any other time she wished to do so she wouldn't feel pain thanks to her alpha.

As soon as she shifted everyone in the packed bowed there heads, a sacred thing. Less and less males and females were shifting fading into humans, to then leave the pack in disgrace.

As she looked around even the alpha and Luna had there heads bowed in confusion and now she was confused as well. As she walked towards them and let a bark leave her lips the alpha and Luna still wouldn't meet her eyes.

She walked towards them trying to lift there heads nudging them up with her own yet they wouldn't budge, why would they show a pack member submission?

She looked around then looked down...her paws were black. Rachel was confused you get the same coloured wolf as you do your hair colour so why when she had silvery locks, her wolf was black.

She was jinxed. She was now the new leader of the pack and of all werewolves. As the realisation finally occurred, she took off, unbeknownst to everything but speed and direction. All she could hear were the packs fading cries as her paws crunched on fallen sticks and brown Autumn leaves.
