My Turn

Chapter 2

Rachel's POV
As I step out of the car I can smell my pack again "you brung me to the border, you knew they'd sniff me out, there coming" my pack is coming.

"It's better this way, I could never be a good mate to you. You shouldn't have run away" he's right I shouldn't have run away but why can't he be a good mate? "Why?" I ask. "Because running away from your responsibilities does more damage on everyone else-"

"No" I cut in "why couldn't you be a good mate to me? We're destined for each other".

"Look at me, look and take another one. This is a boy in a mans body, someone who was rejected by there own leaders then took their place. Nobody respects me, they listen because I am the alpha. It would diminish your reputation".

I pause, he doesn't seem hurt by my lack of response but...knowing like there's nothing left to say. Like there's no point comforting a worthless cause.

"Reputations change, as well as people" I say and I mean it. "Your my mate, don't abandon me" as I finish my sentence I hear and smell the thuds of paws hundreds of them coming this way.

I turn and face the border as they all gather in a line in front of it, snarling at my mate. "DO NOT SNARL at him" I didn't realise I boomed. Most pack members lowered there noses and sat while some whined at the power of tone I used.

"I'm ready to take my roll" I turned into a werewolf ripping the black dress it disappearing in gold speckles.

And with one last glance, no with a parting glance because I would see him again I ran through my pack and they followed behind. Time to talk it over at the pack house.

It was a disgrace running away.

"I'm glad your back Rachel, so is the rest of the pack" the previous beta of the pack greets. "Explanations are in order" I nod "yes they are" I reply.

"Simple I wasn't ready to take on being a leader whether that be a Luna or alpha female, I was especially shocked at all of that after finding out I'm jinxed in front of my whole pack. It was crazy to watch a former Luna and alpha bow before you and I ran" I spoke.

"She's not ready to lead" the former beta says "and until your ready" Samson faces the pack raising his arms "I will step in". A lot of the pack just stared for a long time.

Suddenly growls ripped through the pack, they know I'm stronger and their protecting their leader.

"You have no right!, step away from the alpha female, you should not poison her with your presence" the former Luna speaks up "we should of removed you from your position long ago, a position stealer, utter blasphemy" I smile my pack accepts me.

"Then I shall ask the alpha female myself" Samson turns to me. An idiot, he expects me to stand down and give the position to him? "Surely you agree you aren't ready to lead? A girl non-the-less" I laugh.

"I might not be ready to lead yet but I was born for this position and I'd be damned if I let a mutt take my position away from me. A am the alpha female AND YOU WILL RESPECT ME" screams,howls and claps of approval vibrate through the pack as Samson ashamedly shakes were he stands.

He bows and quickly trots away.

"Another announcement" the crowd silences. Our pack will soon join the neighbouring, we will become one" then I walk away to my new headquarters.

I get to the leaders house and I walk in "you've cleared the place already" I say to Janice the former Luna. "Of course, did you expect me to leave my stuff in your house" she says.

"I don't understand how your taking this so well, aren't you threatened by the fact that less than 24 hours ago I took your pack seconds after I turned".

"I'm not threatened or felt threatened because I was a mate of a alpha, you forget I wasn't born into being a leader. Sure now my son won't become the next alpha but he's still young so it won't worry him."

"And David?" I ask. "Well being the alpha has been in his bloodline since the beginning so yes he was a little upset but he's over it now" I nod.

"Well alpha, I let you get situated. While you where gone everything has been replaced "beds, fridge, counches, carpets and all of the walls have been freshly painted white. Shopping has been done and everything's restocked as well as all your belongings have been moved here".

"Well don't you move fast" I smile in appreciation. "We wanted it ready for your return".

"Oh and a lot of the pack members have made you food for your second night being an alpha" I nod thanks and she departs.

I walk into the kitchen and see on the clock displayed it's almost seven in the afternoon.

Walking over to the fridge, opening the door my mouth drops open. I close the fridge and turn around resting my elbows on the counter and putting my chin in my hands.

If possible my mouth opens wider. The fridge was packed full with baked...everything. Cakes, roasts, deserts, drinks, everything. It looks like the whole pack made me something each.

"There's more" I stare in horror at the dining table which could seat about 30 people full, some dishes stacked on others.

I think I could get use to this pack.

I mind link my whole pack "Hahah thank you all, dinner at mine, 7:10-9pm I need everyone to help me finish this food" looking at the clock it's not eight past seven.

The first knock arrives on the door minutes later.

- last chapter I said copyrights illegal, I just want to remind everyone I case they forgot 😁
