I now sat in the car with Jackson, I was okay with sitting in the car with him but not when there is nothing...no radio and no talking. I sat in his car an uncomfortable silence I knew he wouldn't talk.
I decided to ask a question "Jackson when can we leave the safe house?"
I could see him shrug his shoulders "okay then is daddy going to be safe?"
Again he shrugged his shoulders "why don't you talk?"
Again I got the shrugging if shoulders "is it because you don't like me or I annoy you?" This time I got nothing so I gave up I turned my back to him resting my head on the door.
As I was dozing off Jackson whispered "I could never hate you Sapphire and we won't see anyone for a long time."
I felt his hand brush up my arms as he placed the blanket in me but I was too tired to do anything. I woke the next morning in a double bed alone. The sun was shining through the windows lighting the room. As I got out of bed I came upon a long hallway leading to stairs.
I slowly went down the stairs being careful I didn't fall or trip. After some searching, I found the kitchen and standing at the stove shirtless was Jackson.
I murmured a good morning expecting nothing back. "Morning!" I heard a whispered.
I looked at him for a moment surprised "so you do talk?" He slowly nodded his head looking at me like I am crazy. I added, "I have never heard your voice before."
He nodded his head "I don't feel the need to share pointless and unneeded comments."
I walked to the tap to get some water "so all my questions last night I asked they were pointless?"
He shook his head vigorously "didn't feel the need to answer questions I didn't have an answer for."
I walked back over to the doorway "next time tell me that people might jump to conclusions."
He commented as I walked away "I did talk last night, it wasn't my fault you were asleep."
I turned around and looked at him "I wasn't asleep Jackson." I prolonged his name by saying it slowly.
He walked over to me standing an inch away "well then why say you have never heard me talk obviously you have, lying isn't a good trait."
I bit back "neither is being a dick Jackson!" I then stormed away to the backyard for some time to think.
