Distance and Time, I'll be waiting

In Caroline's house, the happiest reunion took place as finally Bonnie and Damon arrived from the cemetery.

"How?? You were not breathing and you heart stopped for days- Even when they released your body from the hospital-" Damon said.

"I don't know- but I was there- which is weird cos there is no other side anymore" Elena said.

"You were there?!"- Caroline now added-"like in spirit??"

"No- not like the out of body experience"- Elena tried to explain-"I felt paralyzed but I could hear you and tried to wake upto tell you that I was there and fine-like I was trapped in my own body"-

"Good Elijah was actually there - "- Bonnie then said-

"Yeah"- Elena just slipped now her thoughts wondering off briefly to the moment he clawed her out of the grave and carrying her away.

Caroline interrupted them as she heard Meredith get out of the car swishing to the door to open it for the doctoress.

Meredith saw her fair share of miraculous recoveries and transitions using vampire blood, but this was a first - as she examined Elena several times before she had declared her dead.

"You are like a cat- I give you that"- Meredith said as she approached Elena ready to examine her.

Alrhough Elijah had confirmed that Elena exhibited all human traits, Bonnie suggsted they still get Meredith.

"Blood preassure fine"- Meredith said-"slightly up- guess- due to excitement- I 'll take some blood-
Eleba now rolled up the sweater and Meredith took some of her blood.

In all the excitement Elena completely disregarded the cut she had on her palm from the letter knife and now she looked at her palm- and her hand was healed-

"This is strange-"-

"What?"- Meredith said and the others looked at the doppelganger inquisitively.

Elena then told them about giving blood to Elijah and the cut on the palm-

"It healed-"

"it must be that thing you took"- Meredith said-

"Duh!"- Caroline now voiced to the obvious.

"It's not just an ordinary Qetsiyah Cure then?"- Damon said.

"I have to check-"Bonnie said- "whatever it is I am glad you are back!!" - hugging her best friend.

Meredith got up, putting the sample of Elena's blood safely in her doctor's bag.- "

"I'll call you-"

Elena nodded.

And as Meredith left, the take away came with Matt and the day turned into a small festivity kinda celebrating Elena's new birthday.

In Withmore days before Elena took the Cure

Gayaneh, a Traveller witch, observed Elena as she was taking to one of her friends fron the college.
"A vampire-"- Gayaneh remarked in her mind-"not for long"
She followed her to the dorms. And as Elena got in she walked right in after her- as she made herself known to Elena.

"Who are you?"-
"A witch - not just any- a Traveler witch- not my body- bur you know how it works with ancient magic- my name is Gayaneh- "

"And - you want something from me- but I am not doing it- whatever it is!"- Elena said now vamping out at the witch, although knowing that it would not come to anything.

The witch had subdued her-

"I don't want to do this to you- but - you have to listen to me-" as she said it she release the strong magic and Elena was glad . Her head was throbbing- and she looked at the witch with hatred saying-

"What now?? Everyone always wants something from me!!"

"Being born as a doppelganger is a curse- and you never asked for any of this-I know, but this is all for balance- it has to be restored. And by your hand."

Elena just looked at the woman gone out.

The witch now came to her putting her hand on her chest chanting a spell that made Elena fall in a strange trance.

Near Yellowknife, Canada, Days after

Elijah finally reached the town and first thing was to meet Klaus.

"Finally!!"- Klaus said as he entered the house that Elijah chose as his temporary accommodation.

"Hello to you, too!"- Elijah said and without further ado produced the bottle with Elena's blood.

"What's this?"

"The doppelganger's blood"- Elijah said.

"Now you lost me! Is there another doppelganger around? Have you not come from a funeral?!"

"Elena is alive!"- Elijah continued-"and very human."

"Oh, your men made a mistake?"- Klaus was surprised taking the precious bottle.

"It's a long story-"- Elijah said-"so- shall we see the witch?!"

Klaus smirked and was happy that his brother once again managed to shake away another enemy.

"After you"- Elijah said and let Klaus lead the way. They left for the woods.

Elijah took out his phone and wrote-"Dear Elena,

Although we are separated by distance, you are always on my mind. All I do is count the day and nights dreaming of you, my love. I can't wait for the day when I hold you in my arms again. Yours, always and forever, Elijah"

In Mystic Falls

Elena went got her phone from the table and looked at the message smiling as she read Elijah's short but sweet note. She quickly pressed the reply button

"Dear Elijah,

No matter how far you are, no matter how long it takes you, I'll be waiting. And if you have to walk a million miles, million days, I'll be here waiting. I so dream about you, too. Miss you. Always and forever, Elena."

As she pressed the send button, she blew a little kiss. And for a moment she stopped gazing out from the window into the night her mind travelling back to Cleveland-

Flashback

Elijah stood up from the bench and so did Elena. Looked at the ground briefly and then at her-

"Everything is going to be all right."

"Really?!"- she said and her eyes were not shining belief.

"Bad experiences-"- he then slipped.

"The worst"- she said.

And his facial expression it was clear that there was this invisible wall that would always stand between them and Elena wished she could take her words back and now said-

"Some of them were good- like now-"

He now looked at her and it was something he didn't expect. Her heart was thumping wildly and now he looked at her trying to tame his own heart. It was now and never- and they listened to their hearts and- kissed. Simply kissed.

"Elena-"- Elijah whispered as they found themselves some moments after in a flat not far from the park.

"Elijah-"- Elena gasped as her desire now clouded her reason as her hands floated under his shirt.....
