Elena watched Elijah sleeping peacefully curled up. She could watch him forever. But forever was not to be -her head played now all of their meetings, all their time together.

"Always and forever"- she whispered leaning over to place a kiss on his temple.

"Hmmm"- he let out opening his eyes smiling at her rubbing his eyes -"you're awake-"

"I am - "- she said softly  giving him now another peck on the lips.

He now sat up and returned the peck slipping his hand up her neck gently pulling her into a searing kiss. She wanted nothing else but to stay in his arms in this little cabin in the middle of a forest at the end of the world and so be it.

Elijah's heart murmured the exact same sentiment- as their eyes exchanged all that their souls embedded-

In the car couple of hours later, Elena drove looking straight onto the road with tears streaming down her eyes unstoppably.

Flashback

Elena and Elijah laid in the bed with legs, hands entertwined looking at one another with starry eyes-

"So, how many kids would we have?"- Elena asked.

"Three or four"- Elijah answered-"I love a big family"

"Really-?!"- Elena smiled chuckling a bit.

"I guess you'd be happy to be a local doctor?!"- he asked.

"Yeah- like my dad! Strange-cos- when I was Matt-he so had it all mapped out for us- and I didn't know what I wanted- Mystic Falls was so boring at one point and I just wanted to escape it- how weird- everything turned out just the opposite- now I would want to stay there and have a family- with you"

"I guess we only come to realization of all we want and need when it was not to be"- Elijah sighed a little.

"And you? What would you do? You said you were something like a carpenter when you were human?"

"Yes- I enjoyed making things out of wood. I wanted to build my own ship."

"Oh- I get now why we are here- "- Elena said suddenly realizing that being in the cabin was something Elijah's human side needed.

Elijah just smiled and now caressed her hair taking in the moment for eternity- "My love"
