Chapter 3: The Big Secret!
Niall’s P.O.V
Something just didn’t click into my head when I left her house. I asked my mum and she said she didn’t know anything, I know just the person to ask and I know she will tell me the truth, why? Because she is our best friend. I dialed her number and told her to come to my house tomorrow morning, no excuses; she agreed and I went hope a little better though it kept me wondering inside.
*Morning!*
I woke up a bit early and got ready my guest was going to come in no time. My mum wasn’t at home; she went grocery shopping with my dad. So it was a bit better for me, I heard a knock at the door, I ran to welcome my guest.
“Claire… Good Morning!” I greet her with a Horan hug.
“Morning Niall!” she greet back.
“Come in, Come In!” I told her as she made herself comfortable at the living room.
“Alright, I’m good. What’s up? What do you need?” she smiled and waited for me to reply. Claire was our best friend (Kathie’s and me). I offered her some food and accept it.
“Well yesterday, I spend my day with Kate and the baby that looks a lot like me and her, so I need to know the reason why she was so damn nervous and kicked me out of the house when I truly wanted to stay & nobody came to pick up the baby!” I told her.
“Umm… Haha. The baby? Well agh. She will kill me but it’s for her own good and yours!” she started to get a little nervous.
“Yes Claire! I need that info. Something tells me that need to know no matter what!” I told her impatiently.
“Okay, Okay! Agh. But don’t interrupt me! Or else you suffer the consequences. Well when they dropped off at the airport, a couple of days later, Kat started feeling sick, she was having headaches; throwing up; and pregnancy symptoms. My mum bought her a pee test to make sure, if she was pregnant or not! Well it turn out she was and you are the only guy, she done it with. So there is no doubt that baby is yours, she got homeschooled, her brother Mike payed for it; her mum didn’t care at all & constantly travels to Italy a lot. She didn’t want to tell you because she though the baby was going to be a distraction to your career and she didn’t wanted to make you look bad for your Directioners. Baby James was born March 17, 2011, here in Mullingar, it would even show she had a belly, my mum and I took care of her. Yes, the baby looks like her and you at the same time, no doubts. One last thing, she was going to tell you sooner or later, but she was afraid, how you were going to react!!!” she finished & I stood with my eyes wide open and open mouth.
“So… So… I’m A- A Dad?!?!” I said a little excited but speechless and happy because it was from the gurl I always dream of.
“Yes, Niall, You are a daddy!” she said rolling her eyes. I didn’t know what to do either to run to her house and tell her or try to stay quiet. Or I just didn’t know.
“But don’t tell her I told you. Because she is too afraid of your reaction! Please?” she pleads and I just nodded.
Kathie’s P.O.V
As open the blinds of the living room, I saw Claire walked out of Niall’s house. I wondered for what early on the day. I saw Niall standing outside the door and waving bye and told her thank you for letting him know. Then he soon disappeared. In five minutes I heard a knock at the door, I went to open it & saw Niall, and he kissed my lips & gave a huge Horan hug, like never before! Damn, I miss that already!
“Good Morning?! Why up so early?!” I asked as I welcomed him inside.
“Well I wanted to see you & the adorable baby! Where is he?” he asked with curiosity.
“Upstairs, asleep! Why?” I started getting nervous.
“Go get ready? We are taking the baby for a DNA Test!” he said all happy.
“What? For what?” I asked shock.
“Because a birdie told me that kid is my son & I have no doubt. So hurry up babe, don’t want to make the doctor wait for too long!” he said.
“Agh. Niall, there’s no need to do that! Just look at the baby, he looks like us two & personality he is another you! I know that. Because you are the first one and only one! Alright?” I told him though he hugged me right after I finished. The baby started crying; he just woke up and was hungry.
“Umm… James just woke up, so I better go get that!” I said.
“I will come with you! I want to start bonding with my son! Please?” he pleads as we start walking upstairs to get the baby. I laughed and guided him to the baby’s room. He ran to the crib and grabs him. Baby James, start calming down and we head back downstairs to feed him. My feeling for Niall were still there and grew more and more as I saw him with our baby having a father and son bonding time. I handed him the bottle and James grabbed it by himself, that’s when Niall started questioned me.
“Kat, Babe! Why didn’t you tell me about him? I should’ve been here for you and him & you know be the man!” he said calm.
“Well because you left to One Direction & I thought I was a distraction to your career, and I don’t want to expose the baby to the Directioners who attack you guys!” I answered nervously, and he just laughed.
“Haha. Babe! Don’t worry about James getting mobbed and this little angel ain’t any distraction, he is a blessing in my life, actually in our life! Did your mum bother to care a bit?” he told me.
“She didn’t give one! What so ever! She hasn’t even called, though she travels to Italy constantly. The only ones that helped me were Claire, Claire’s mum, & my brother!” I told him.
“Alright babe, I will help you from now on. And I would love to spend time with my son! Please? And one more thing?” he said.
