2.

--------------------------------------------

I opened the door and then I realized, wow, I did need this closer look. Once she was up closer I could really see the majority of her features. The scar under her right eye was sort of a white, purple, pink color all mixed. Maybe that was because the tissues not healing all the way through or it was the blood still floating up to the surface of her skin. I don’t know. I wasn’t a medical doctor. All I knew is that it kind of made her face a better thing to look at. That one feature that puzzled you and made you so that you could not look away and that feature that at the same moment, made you not want to look or even glance at another morsel of the thing. Her eyes were a green color on the inside and the by the time they got out to the edge of her coloring, they faded into a crimson brown. Actually kind of cool and creature like but so majestic and pretty that...

"UM… ALEX?'' My mom yelled from the other room. ''WHOS HERE?''

''Hi my name is Emily Arlest. I see that your name is Alex right?'' The girl asked

''Yes and one second, MOM, ITS Emily right?'' She nodded. ‘‘IT’S EMILY, OUR NEIGHBOR.''

I didn’t hear an answer; she just came walking through the door from the other room. ''Hi, I’m Leah, Alex’s mom. I hear your name is Emily our neighbor. So, hi Emily our neighbor.'' She smiled and winked to the girl standing on our front deck. She smiled right back and giggled. ‘Actually, it’s just Emily. Emily Arlest. My dad sent me over to see if you needed any help unpacking or if you still have things to bring here from the other house. He said we could help and you could use his truck.''

''Um... Yeah, sure. We could definitely use the help but I don’t think we can accept the offer, I don’t have any way to pay him.'' Said my mom.

Emily giggled.''. My dad does not want money for anything that he has offered and is willing to do himself. He only gets paid by his official jobs and none other.'' Emily said that like she was very proud of her dad for this. ‘I can go get him if you would like to meet each-other. He said he would love to meet you. Or you guys could come over to my house since not everything is settled in here.''

''Are you sure your dad would not mind?''

''Positive. Just let me go tell him and I will see you there in awhile?'' She said that line like a question.

'' Sure, sure, we'll see you there. It’s 3 o'clock now so how about 3 thirty. Is that okay?''

''Plenty of time. ‘She said as she stepped off our porch and walked away. Only now did I notice anything about what she was wearing. She had on a pair of old, faded blue jeans, a bright purple tank-top, and a white zip-up sweater over that. For now I would just stick with an every day, casual girl to describe her, but I still had no way of explaining the scar under her eye.

''She seems like very nice, well mannered girl. What do you think? ‘Asked my mom as she was walking away.

''Um, yeah, she seems cool and definitely nice because I could see her looking at my leg and she didn't say anything. I’m surprised.''

'' Well, some people are nice enough to stay on the other side of the line when it comes to personal things, you know. She seems like one of those people. She'll probably ask about once you two get to know each-other though. Then you can ask about her scar. I know that you noticed it.''

''Yeah it’s frustrating me, not knowing about it. Maybe I’ll ask later.''

''Okay I’m going to go take a shower. You can get dressed and get ready to go. Be good while I’m in there.''

                                *********                           *********

I walked to my room and found a box labeled Alex's clothes and opened it. I grabbed the first thing I saw on the top of the box. A pair of dark, bleached blue jeans, a white 2 finger tank-top, and a red plaid flannel shirt. I put on the jeans and tank-top but decided to put away the flannel and instead grab a black Under Armor with sleeves...Casual. My mom got out of the shower and got dressed. She also did not have any reason to dress up so she went in a pair of blue jeans, a green Aeropostale shirt and her every day, dark blue jean jacket. My family did not care about ''fashion."
