--------------------------------------------

When we walked into Emily's house, I was a little surprised. Their house as the same exact make as ours. The first room you walk into is the kitchen. Then you walk through the kitchen, through the double swinging doors, into their living room. The den turns into a hallway of 2 bedrooms.    . Both of the bedrooms are the same size. Then you go up-stairs and there is a bathroom, a storage closet and the master bedroom. Same exact make of our house. Maybe it had to do with the way foundations were set up or something. Maybe all the houses on the street or even the block had all the same make and design. Again, I was not a construction worker.

''So, this is my room. How do you like it? To girly? Never mind don't answer, should have never asked, you’re a guy, I'm a girl. Never mind.

'' No actually, I like it. if I didn’t know that this was your room, I would not have thought it was yours! Are you joking, do you have a brother or something because as of right now I’m starting to have some doubts that this is your room the more I look around and check things out''. I said this as I picked up a statue of a purple skull with the eyes blacked out, obviously by a black permanent marker. Interesting. I turned around only to see one humungous, chalk board. It made up her whole, north wall. The chalk board wall had been signed by many children. Throughout the last week I had heard two of the names that were on the board over the intercom at school.

''So, you must have lots of friends, according to the wall in front of me and you.'' As I said this I noticed about 3 more names signed with bestie or b.f.f. under it. Lots of friends. At least she had some. I, had none at all. Unless of course she was my friend. Then I would have one friend.

I wondered what my mom and Brad were doing right now.

We were walking through the hall when I heard Brad murmur something about how Emily had been going through some troubles with her mom. She flinched so I knew that she heard too. I decided not to ask, thinking that she might not want to talk right now. Maybe when we were better friends.

'' Dad what are we having for dinner tonight?''

''Burgers on the grill.'' Brad replied.

''Yeah mom, what are we going to have for dinner?''By now we were back in the family room.

Brad looked at my mom and then looked at me. '' Burgers on the grill'' He said to me.

''Oh nice, we are eating here then?''

''Yes. Is that okay captain?'' My mom smirked. Emily giggled.

''Yeah. That’s fine. As long as Emily doesn’t mind me here and Brad does not mind you here then great. A break from moms cooking, its good but its the same person that cooks every night. It would be nice to try someone else's cooking for a night.'' Emily giggled, mom blushed, Brad smiled and I winked to my mom. I was hoping that we could all be friends some day. That would be nice.
