Losing Things

I have lost my keys, my money, my wallet (which had no money in it)

I have lost eyeglasses, prescription medication, my cane (when I needed one temporarily)

I have lost CDs, DVDs, so many remote control devices so many times, my cordless telephone (which I found once in refrigerator when it rang while I was looking for cold cuts)

I have lost my place in line, my seat, my membership to the club (OK, I got kicked out of the club)

I have lost my coat, my hat my shirt (literally and figuratively)

I have lost family, friends and associates

I have lost just about everything that a person can lose

For the most part, my things weren't lost at all

Most times, my things weren't actually lost. Just misplaced or hidden for safekeeping (from myself)

With the exception of family and friends. My lost things were replaceable or better off gone from my life

But then...

Things are just that, things

The most important and cherished asset in my life is my family

Irreplaceable.
