"Adrian!" A voice shouted softly.
"Adrian!" The voice... getting louder.
"Adrian!" I know that voice. I felt my body being shaken, then my eyes flashed open, I sat up.
"What?! Oh Mum it's you." I fell back on my pillow and rubbed my eyes awake.
"Adrian, it's time to get up or you'll be late for your first day of you new High School" She giggled
Oh joy, school, What could be more fun? Oh yeah... Anything!
"OK mum, let me just get up, so can stop sitting on my legs, and could you leave my room please."
"Hurry up!" She stood up, "Your breakfast is on the table and it's getting cold." She turned towards the door and headed out, shutting it behind her.
I sighed as I was my uniform neatly arranged on my deck chair. Of all of the schools in America my mum has to pick one with a uniform, I thought that when we moved to America I wouldn't have to wear a uniform ever again but nooo.
I switched on my iPod and put it on shuffle, The Technicolour Phase by Owl City came on first, music was my best way to start the day. I went into the bathroom, took my Marvel Comic top off and throw it into the washing basket. I looked at my body, I was starting to get a six-pack, then I took off the rest of my night clothes and got in the shower. The hot water felt good against my skin, I washed my hair and body then got out of the shower and dried off and lastly brushed my teeth. Then I proceeded to get dressed in my bedroom. As soon as I was dressed I switched off my iPod, put it in my pocket and went downstairs where mum was busy in the living room getting ready the mirror, and on the table was my breakfast was waiting. Cold buttered toast.
"When your done eating, can you take the rubbish out?" mum yelled from the living room "Your brother forgot to!" Since Dad died my older brother Charlie has been the main provider of money in the house, he has a pretty good job, he works for the British embassy in Washington now.
"OK mum! I'll do it as I leave."
I sat down to eat my breakfast when mum came into the room.
"OK hun' I'm off to work, have a good day at school and I'll see you when your home." She picked up a slice of my toast, her handbag and kissed me on the back my head.
"Love you Adrian! She called as she left the house.
After I finished my toast. I went to the mirror in the living room. My shaggy dirty blond hair in a mess. I grab a comb and some gel to style it. Then I stood back to see my 'ready or the day' self. I sighed.
"Well, is this going to be a good day?"
As I closed my house door and went to lock it, the dingy yellow school bus pulled into the road.
"Shit!" I locked the door so quickly I nearly broke the key in lock. Then I started to run.
"Stop! Please stop!" I said to myself. Then bus came to a stop and the doors opened. As I approached it I thought that maybe today will be a good day.
I stepped on to the long bus and I peered around to see if there was an empty seat . Yes one near the front with no one on it. As I went to sit down, the bus went off again. Rows and rows of houses went by. The sky was full of darken clouds ready to burst like an over filled water balloon. I looked out of the window for the journey and nothing really court my attention until the bus came to the a set of traffic lights. She pulled up in Chevrolet Camaro like the one from the Transformers films, but it was red not yellow and it was a convertible.
"Whoa Alana! I didn't know she had one of them! Where's her purple Porsche Cayman, that's my favourite." The kid behind me said. He had short spiky hair and olive skin.
"Who is that?" I didn't realised I said it out loud.
"What? You don't know who that is? Wait your British aren't you?" he looked at me with a smile on his face.
"No, no I don't, yes I am British, I moved here a week ago." I replied. "Oh and no I won't say it." I saw that he was going to ask me to say something like 'pip pip cheerio'.
He laughed "Your funny, whats your name? 'Livingston I presume'" he laughed again.
I laughed too "No, my name's Adrian."
"Cool! 'Name's Marco Jones. My family's origin is from Italy!" He came to sit next to me, then he shook my hand. At least people have manners here.
"That's Alana Lewis, shes rich as fuck. Our dads work together, so we go way back and we have been friends for years." he smirked.
The lights changed green, Alana in her Chevrolet sped off down the road followed slowly by the clunky school bus. Something told me that after seeing her, life wouldn't be the same.
More then I knew.
