The sun shown brightly through the spots in the window that Cam and I had cleaned off the night before to see through. Scrambling to my feet, I looked out the window. Cam was asleep on the floor, sitting up with her back against the couch, gun in hand, ready to fire at the drop of a hat. At least, she would have been if she were awake. My scrambling caused her to slide over and hit the floor before she woke up, gun pointed. I would have laughed, but I was too busy trying to find the horde. Running to the other side of the house, I cleared a spot in the dirty window to see out into the street. The street was... clear...

"Cam!" I turned to look at her, she looked back at me with a brow raised.

"What?" She walked over and cleared a spot on the window beside me. "The street's clear..." She said out loud. "Wouldja look at that. Hmm. We should be on our way, then, huh?" I nodded.

Cam grabbed her bag and we were out on the street before any more time was waisted. Taking off down the road, Cam and I kept our eyes out for any movement that didn't seem human, weapons in hand. I was glad that Cam was so good with directions, because I had no idea where I was going. Just another reason as to why I'm so grateful for having Cameron in my life.

"Cam...?" I said softly, looking down at the ground as I walked. She responded with a 'hm'. "You didn't have to come back for me... yesterday.. you know." She looked at me in surprise. "You know that I would have, gladly, sacrificed myself to make sure you made it out of there alright."

"Jules... I would never leave you. If I didn't have you in my life, I'd have nothing. I'd be lost." I looked to her as we walked her eyes forward, watching for zombies. "What would I tell Avery? How would I explain to him that you were grabbed by a walker and I didn't do anything, even though you were easily reached? How would I live with myself knowing that I could have done something but didn't? How could I go through this hell without my best friend as my anchor?"

"You'd be fine, Cam. You're the one always kicking ass and protecting everyone anyway."

"Because you have my back, and I have yours. Yeah, I have Ryan, and whatever, but he's not you. You're the only one that I trust with my life, with my back, Jules. I've known you longer. I don't know Ryan and Avery as well. For all I know, they'll leave at the first sight of a super model or something. But, even if they did, I'd still have you." She explained as we walked before ducking behind a tree as two, or three, zoms staggered by.

We were quiet the rest of the way. Making it back to the house by, about, Noon, if not a little passed. Opening the door, Ryan and Avery pointed guns at us before realizing it was us. Lowering their guns in relief, we smiled. Avery tossed his gun to the side and ran to me, throwing his arms around me. He was worried. He didn't look like he'd slept much, either. I tried to close the door behind me, but Avery made it difficult, so he pushed it shut instead. Cam kissed Ryan on the cheek when she set her weapons on the table and placed her bag on the chair.

"Where's the stuff?" She asked Ryan. He turned and looked at her after watching Avery and I... He still hadn't let go... It felt like he was sleeping while standing.

"In the yard." Ryan answered before grabbing Cam's bag and a hammer. "Want to get started? Give these two some time?" Cam shrugged and walked out to the yard with Ryan after grabbing a hammer of her own.

After a long, awkward, moment of silence, Avery pulled away from me, a tear rolling down his face. I didn't mean to worry him so much. But, then again, this would have been the sight that Cam would have been welcomed with if I hadn't made it out last night. Only worse... probably. Pulling a smile to my face, I looked up at him as he looked me over. He noticed the tear in my tank top and the blood that covered me in splotches from head to toe. He walked around me, examining every inch of me to make sure that none of that blood was mine. When he was satisfied, he stood in front of me.
