Chapter 1

"Run. Run. Run!" A strange voice kept repeating in my head. I don't know why but ever since my parents died I've been having voices. Voices that won't stop screaming in my head. Since they died my dreams are filled with that moment. Sometimes if I'm lucky I will have memory's , of the good times. When I wake up my head is always pounding with yells and screams. I don't know where, why or who, all I know is that it's annoying!

My parents died by some idiot drunk driving. We were on our way back from the airport from our trip. The guy hit the front end killed himself and my parents. I on the other hand survived but had a couple of scrapes and bruises. October 29th 2012 was the date exact. I didn't even get a 2012 Christmas! It's not fair. Now it's April 10th 2013 only about 3 more months of school left, then it's the end of 12th grade! It's going to be tuff without my parents.

"Alana" "Alana" "Alana!" My teacher snapped.

"Can you tell me what acb+ack+2b-2k equals? Or we're your thoughts more important?!" She yells.

"I-I I um, um... Sorry Ms. Ivec" I slowly replied not know what to say.

"Uh-huh! Just what I thought or should I say your thoughts. This is a warning young lady, next time it's to the principals office!" We're her last words until she walked away to continue to teach.

"Hey Alana! Wsp?" My BFF Macaulay said while grabbing my wast and pulling me.

"Not to to much... Ms. Ivec got pissed off at me again. You?"

"Same old same old... What did you do this time?"

"I was lost in my thought! That's it that's all! Some teachers need to take a chill pill."

"The teachers or you?" He said playfully.

I obviously punched his shoulder and grinned.

"JK, JK, JK!" He says with a high pitch voice.

"Stop it I hate when you do that! It's just like saying: just kidding, I'm just kidding about that just kidding, just kidding!"

"Woh don't need to get your panties in a twist!"

"French class time! See you later macaulay! Byr!"

"Bye, don't get in trouble again!"

"Oh piss off!"

*at home*

"Hi grandma! I'm back, how was your day?"

"Oh hello sweety, good and you?" Her sweet little voice comes around the corner.

I place a gentle kiss on her cheek knowing that shes all thats left of my family.

We go in the kitchen she starts supper while I finish homework then help her finish it. After she goes in the living room and I do the dishes.

"Grand-ma, we should get you to bed. It's already 7:30." I whisper in her ear because she's half asleep on the couch.

"Um, okay" she says a little shaky.

I carry her up the stairs and into her room. I place her gentle body on her bed, kiss her cheeks and sing a lullaby.

"Dressed up in a gown that trails on the floor

In a picture hat your mommy wore

Living in a world that you never knew

My little lady, make-believe.

What a pair of shoes for two tiny feet

What a pair of gloves, the fingers don't meet

Posing in the glass, your joy is complete

My little lady, make-believe.

In your little arms a doll you enfold

Means the world and all to you

But you could never love the doll you hold

Half as much as I love you.

Dream your little dreams, may they all come true

May the coming years bring happiness too

All my future dreams are wrapped up in you

My little lady make-believe." I love this lullaby because my mom used to sing it to me.

I go back down stairs and go to my room. I look at a picture of my mommy and daddy kiss it the go to bed.

Thoughts run in my head.

"Run. Run. Run!" Why is it doing that? Is it a sign of some sort? Oh well, I'll worry about it another day. Right know I am tired and I want to go to sleep.
