Chapter 6

RUN, RU-

It stopped? In the middle? Weird. I finished clipping my necklace together. Got dressed and went down stairs to make breakfast.

"Hello grandma." I told her. I gave her a hug and a kiss on the cheek.

"Hello beautiful girl!" She said back. She sounded happy!

"I got something else for your birthday." She told me with an exited old lady voice.

"What do you mean the necklace is enough!" I said to her. It was true she didn't have to get me something else.

"The necklace is from your parents. This is from me." She said pointing to outside. As I look I see a grey car outside a little rusty but it look ok to me!

*gasp* I turn around to see my grandma with a smile but probably not as big as mine! I give her a HUGE hug!

"How did you afford this?" I asked.

"It's my entire life savings." She had told me. I just looked at her.

"As much as I LOVE this! You really didn't have to. You could have bought something more useful to yourself!" I told her.

"One, you do a lot around here so you deserve it. Two, its YOUR birthday! And three, you can now drive me to bingo!" She told me with a laugh.

"Well... Then. THANK YOU SO SO MUCH!" I practically scream at her. As I hugged her I realized I don't know how to drive.

"One thing... I don't know how to drive." I said as I released the hug.

"I already booked you a lesson. It's at 3:30 today." She said to me happy. I saw a yellow light around her body. What does this mean? Does it mean anything? Or am I illusionating?

I tell her thanks again and head of to work. I work all day because its the weekend.

When I walked in the shop I start doing the usual. Prepare all the coffee and food. Turn the close sign to Open and wait for my boss to come in and costumers. When she walked in she gave me a wave with her hand because she was on the phone.

The first costumer was a guy. Blonde hair, blue eyes, looks about my age and has a nice smile with bleach white teeth.

"Ello!" He said to me woth a british accent. He seemed nice.

"Hello, what would you like?" I asked him like I do to every costumer.

"A coke, chocolate chip cookie and your number." He told me. He had that flirty grin on his face.

"I'm sorry what?" I asked him, even though I knew what he had said.

"A coke, a chocolate chip cookie and your number." He told me once again with the same face.

"We don't serve my number here, sorry. But your coke and chocolate chip cookie is coming right up!" I told him. I mean I barely knew him! All he did was nod.

I came back with his order and gave it to him.

"That will be 3.56$" I told him.

He gave me the correct amount. I said thanks and when I was about to walk off to go to the back, when he grabbed my arm.

"What about your number?" He asked me again!

"Uh, fine." I had said as I write my number. 705-271-6834.

I handed it to him. Yolo I guess!

"I'll call you beautiful" he said and walk away.

"Oh, and thank you Alana" were his last words. Uh, boys.

After work I walked down to the driving license station. When I walked in I say down on a seat.

"Alana" my name was called in the speakers.

"Room 7" it said. So I walked by other rooms. 1,3,5. Ah, 7. I walked in and take a seat. I saw a guy working on papers.

"Hello" I said. He jumped.

"Uh, you scared me!" He told me. He seemed fun!

I laughed. "Oops" I told him.

"It's okay..." He looked through his papers. "Alana. What a beautiful name" he said to me.

"Thank you!" I replied.

"So first were gonna start with how to work a car, then go to driving, then your going to take the driving test then the written test." He told me. He was clearly experienced knowing all this by heart.

After my first session I headed back to my house and started supper. I started by taking out the noodles and tomato sauce for spaghetti. I boiled some water and cut some veggies.

*And we danced all night to the best song ever!* i heard my ring tone. I pick up my cell phone.

"Hello?" I ask.

"Hello Alana!" A familiar voice speaks into the phone.

"Carlisle! What's up?" I'm felling happy he called. I was missing his voice.

"You up to anything?" He tells me.

"Nah, just making supper. Then probably gonna watch tv. Why?" I tell him while stirring the noodles.

"I was wondering if you wanted to go out for supper then catch a movie. But if you have plans it's ok if you don't." He tells me. I can hear he's was nervous.

"I can give the spaghetti to my grandma and go if you want." I would never miss something with him.

"Ok! I'll pick you up at 5:30!" He tells me. I wanted to ask if this was a date. But I figured I shouldn't.

"Ok see you then!" Then we hang up. I do a little happy dance and continue the spaghetti for my grandma.
