I apologize for the slow update! Thank you all so much for following my story! Please remember to let me know what you think. I want nothing more than to improve and make this story wonderful.

My parents were overjoyed when I told them I was going into town the next day. They probably figured I'd find some friends and live a normal life. If sticking my nose into some books to get to the bottom of a wolf mystery was normal, I had it down. If they knew they'd lecture me on wasting my time, so when they asked where I was headed I told them to merely explore. They thought that was a wonderful idea.
The library wasn't hard to find, which I was very thankful for. I didn't want my claims of exploring to be real because the library had decided to hide from me. It was a two story library, which to me seemed a bit big for the town, and unfortunately meant I'd be searching a while to find what I was looking for.
The librarian was an older woman wearing a blue dress, her hair tied up in a bun, and glasses on her face. It was a little too stereotypical librarian for my taste. She would have looked younger if her hair was hanging down around her shoulders. She nodded at me when I walked in and I politely waved before losing myself in the shelves.
Wolves...wolves... Where are the books on wolves?
It was as if the library avoided the subject altogether. I had checked six shelves before sighing in defeat. I didn't want to ask the librarian, but if I didn't want to be stuck in this musty building until dinnertime I had no choice. I crept up to her desk and clenched my fists a few times. I hated asking for help. Maybe it was a phobia, but doing it drove me crazy.
"Excuse me." I spoke softly, not wanting her to turn and snap at me. She seemed the type.
"Yes?" She looked at me over her glasses and I wanted to roll my eyes.
"I'm looking for books on the wolves that used to be in this area." I crossed my arms across my chest, which by now I have learned is a defense mechanism. I often do it when I'm nervous.
"Yes, well we don't have those anymore." She rested her hands on the desk. "Someone checked them out and decided not to return them."
"So they're all gone?" Disbelief was probably very evident in my tone, but this all seemed really weird to me.
"Yes. If you have any questions I can do my best to answer them for you." She seemed annoyed with me and I honestly didn't want to talk with her any longer.
"No, I'm alright. I was just curious as to why they all disappeared." I shrugged my shoulders and readjusted my messenger bag.
"Well, they were all hunted off quite a long time ago." She turned away from me after that and I knew that it was her way of telling me I was free to go.
"Thanks." I turned and left the library. Why I hadn't just brought my laptop and went in search of a place with wireless internet escapes me. It would have been much easier to find information.
"Excuse me." A deep voice startled me and when I turned I realized I was in someone's way.
"Sorry." I slowly moved aside but he hadn't moved.
I got a good look at him then. He had to have been around six feet and three inches, which was the same height as my giant little brother. His hair was brown, like mine, and his skin might have been far paler than my own. I didn't think that was possible. The most breathtaking part about him was his face. His jaw was very prominent and connected to a much chiseled chin. His top lip was thin but it met with a very full bottom lip. His nose was perfectly straight and didn't seem to fit with the rest of his face. The eyes, though, the eyes are what drew me in. They were green but if you really looked you would see they were decorated with hints of yellow. I had never seen eyes quite like his before.
