Broken

Chapter Six

(A/N. Again I apologise for not updating this story for so long, if anybody is still interested, I thank you so much, I'm back now though, updates on this story every Saturday/Sunday)

My right eye twitched.

"you're persistent aren't you" The boy with the fiery hair climbed through the window after me in search of something to do, maybe annoy me some more, he's good at that.

"Why are you all the way out here?" he asked ignoring my statement.

"None of your business really, so buh bye" I said waving with a sarcastic smile and a slight tilt of the head for extra measure. He only looked puzzled and pointed to the far wall.

"Look" and I looked, sure enough there was a huge pice of paper taped to the wall with multiple paintings of trees in different shades of brown with various leaves and multiple sunsets in the background with a stone path going through the forest of trees with one single boy with flaming red hair standing looking into the forest.

"wow"... I couldn't muster any other word but wow, it was beautiful.

"you like?" he asked with what must have been a smirk, I couldn't peel my eyes off the wall to make sure.

"Its amazing, who didi it?" I doubt this dope actually made this huge beautiful painting on his own.

"Really? that hurt a bit Sally c'mon"

"You did this? but you're a dope, you think Jane is an actual person." I said not totally surprised.

"No, it was me" he said with a silly grin and ran his hand through the fire that sat on his head, it only looked slightly attractive.

"Its amazing" I said honestly though I would've liked this place though, I really wanted a place to myself.

"Well thanks" he said bashfully, his cheeks turning as red as his hair.

"I, uh, never actually got your name by the way" I said looking up at the painting once more.

"Its Seth" he told me, then walked to one of the old boxes and sat on it,

"so what brings you to my humble domain?" he asks pretending to write on a notepad.

"Well" damit, might as well tell him, whats to hold me back now,

"I saw this place and, well I sorta wanted a place I could hide from everything for a few hours a day" he looks up at me and smiles

"w-what, something in my teeth?" I asked, starting to get self conscious, why did It suddenly matter what I looked like? my hair was a mess, my clothes are dirty, I could feel my cheeks burning.

"It's just that, well when I first found this place I thought the same thing, crazy huh" he said with a smile as warm as the flames on his head.

"Yeah, I should go then, you know find another abandoned factory, can't be that hard right"

"Well, you don't have to find another, i don't mind sharing" he said weakly.

"Uh, thanks but no thanks, sharing abandoned factories with strange boys I just met isn't exactly on my bucket list" I couldn't tell what the look on his face was but I hoped the dope understood.

"That's okay, if you ever want to feel free to drop by, my door isn't open but theres a window if you want"

"yeah fat chance" I chuckled and gripped onto the window ledge to climb out, just then, just that one moment the gods looked down on me and decided to say 'hey you, you there, screw you' and tons of rain poured down out of nowhere.

"seriously?" I muttered to myself, this is just my luck.

"looks like were roomies for a bit" Seth said trying not to laugh at my agony.

"Its not that bad I can still make it, whats some water gonna do?"

As my hand touched the window ledge again lighting strikes and I jump backwards, embarrassed I refused to look at Seth who was by now laughing.

"would you stop touching that before we get an earthquake" he says between laughs. I sit on a box and look out the window, waiting for the rain to end, I didn't wanna stay here with Seth anymore.

"so you just gonna stay there?" Seth asked curiously

"yup" I replied, quite determined.

"suit yourself then" he said as he got up and walked into a room behind a door covered from top to bottom with various stickers of county names, super heroes, stars, cartoon characters and much more. Curiosity got the best of me and i followed him in there a few minutes after he left.

I saw seth, laying on a mattress with one pillow and a simple sheet pulled over it, in a small office, desk still intact with a battery powered lamp on it along with a stack of paper and coloured pencils and cans of paint and various paint brushes. Seth looked up at me.

"you came, welcome to my actual room"

"pretty cozy" I said honestly then walked to his mattress and sat down next to his foot.

"whats that picture?" I asked noticing the picture frame next to his bed.

"Oh, its the only family I have left" he said holding it up for me to see, and my stomach dropped, it was Jane.

"My parents abandoned me when I was eight, they didn't have the money to keep me, they always fought..they eventually split up and left me for dead at the side of the road, days after, Jane found me, she took me in as her own and loved me since then" I felt dizzy, I insulted Jane in front of him

"I-I'm sorry" I said feeling bad, that goes to show, when you don't know about people, shut the hell up.

"Its alright, she's been putting up the 'bitchy' act ever since Brianna came here, to keep her in line and all" he assured me, I needed to have a talk with Jane.

The rain continued to pour on the old building, and it was getting dark, and cold. It was peaceful. I leaned against the wall on the mattress and closed my eyes, Seth was okay. The next morning I woke up in his arms on the mattress with him still sleeping, I didn't care, I closed my eyes again and enjoyed his warmth to get some more sleep before I face the day that was to come, I spent the night here with Seth, in his arms...and i slept like a baby. Good person or not I broke a rule and Jane was going to have my head, that't to worry about later though, I relaxed in Seth's arms and fell asleep one more time.
