I put Eden down for bed and went to go check on Justin. I walked into our room and he was already lying in bed asleep. I tip toed in and crouched beside his side of the bed. "Hey" he mumbled in a raspy voice. "Are you okay" I said stroking his face. He swallowed hard and winced in pain. I put the back of my palm on his forehead. "You feel hot" I said worriedly. "I'm fine just tiered" he mumbled closing his eyes and falling back to sleep I kissed his forehead. And climbed into bed.
The next morning I was awaken by Eden's cries. I walked in and she was looking up at me with her caramel brown eyes. "Good morning" I laughed picking her up and putting her on my hip. "Let's go wake up daddy" I whisper. I quietly open the door and I could hear his faint snores. I placed Eden on his chest and she pulled her self up to her face. She started to slobber on her face then he flinched. "Hey" he laughed in his raspy voice. Then he slowly sat up and picked up Eden. "How are you feeling" I said kissing him. "I'm okay" he said giving me Eden. "Eden said she wanted to go get a tree today" I chuckled. "Oh did she" Justin said getting out of bed and getting dressed. " well let's go get a tree" Justin said. Eden started to scream. Snow started to fall as I got Eden ready in our room. Justin picked up Eden and put her up against the window. "Look Eden that's snow" Justin said in his high pitch cute baby voice. Then he kissed her cheek. I started to put on my sweater and jacket and I started to bundle up Eden and put her in her seat. Justin walked out in skinny jeans a grey pea coat and a maroon beanie on his head. "Ready" he said putting his arm around my waist. Then I buckled the last buckle. "Yep let's go" I laughed. We walked out to the car Justin opened the door for me like a gentlemen . The snow started to fall "it's so beautiful" I whisper to Justin. He takes my hand "not as beautiful as you" he said scrunching up his nose m like a bunny. I kissed him. Then we got to the tree farm. I took out Edens car seat and Justin and I walked hand in hand out to the field. There were a zillion trees out there. Some tap some small. "Do you want a tall or a short tree?" I asked Justin. "Tall go big or go home" he laughed then he coughed a couple of times. "Are you sure you should be out in this cold" I said putting my hand on his shoulder. "Yeah I'm fine " he whispered clearing his throat. Then I put Eden down next to a tree while I looke at Justin then she started to squeal in excitement. We both looked at her. "I think this is the tree" Justin laughed as he took Eden out of her seat and put her on his hip. "Well let's go pay" I said as we walked to the counter. The lady at the register started to wave at Eden. "How old is she " she asked us. "She's six months" Justin answered. "Is she your sisiter?" She asked. "No she's ours" I laughed taking Justin's hand. "oh how long have you guys been married?" She asked. " six months" we both said in unison. "Aw young love" she laughed and we chuckled. We paid for the tree and then Justin being the macho man he is tied up the tree on top of our car and we started to drive home. When we pulled in the driveway we both looked back at our daughter and she was fast asleep. "I'll get the tree you can go put her down for her nap" Justin insisted. I walked up to Edens room and put her in her crib and took the baby monitor down stairs. Justin already had the tree inside and on the stand. I grabbed all the Christmas boxes in the basement and we started to decorate. While I put on my first Christmas ornament I began to think about how it wasn't only Eden's first Christmas it's Justin and I's as well. I started to smiling thinking about us then I laughed. Justin looked back at me while he packed up the boxes. "I was just thinking about this is our first Christmas together" I said stepping back to look at our tree. He put down the boxes and stood next to me and he put his arm around my waist. I put my head on his shoulder as he brought me in close. He kissed the top of my head. "I know I have something for you" he said grabbing a box out of his jacket pocket. "What" I said puzzled. "Well this year we had a lot of firsts, our wedding, our first child, and our first Christmas and I know it's hard on you knowing I could get sick again so I wanted you to wear the memories of us if I go." He said getting chocked up. "I started to cry. He opened the box and it was a pandora bracelet. The bracelet had a bride and groom charm for our wedding, a bottle and a letter E for Eden and a little Christmas tree for our first Christmas. Then there one last charm. "Incase my cancer comes back and I leave you I got a letter 'J' charm to remember I was your first husband" he said getting chocked up. I looked at him and hugged him and we both cried in each others shoulders. "It's beautiful" I cried letting go and wiped me tears away. He helped me clasp it on my wrist and I grabbed his face and kissed then he picked me up bridal style. Shortly after I heard Eden's faint cries. "I'll go get her" I whisper in his ear kissing him once more. He smiled and started to put away the boxes.
Justin's POV
I put away the last of the boxes and then I went back up stairs then my wife and daughter were coming back down. I can't believe God blessed me with the best two gifts. "Hey" I said in my baby voice holding Eden. I took her near the tree and her eyes lit up. "I'm so glad I get to spend your first Christmas with you" I say to her kissing her cheek she giggles. Hana stands next us and I just look at her. We are finally a normal family.
