"Oh c'mon ref! Are you blind?! That was a foul. Ugh!" Connor sighed in frustration.
All of the family except Mrs. Stoll and Granny Stoll were watching football in the tiny living room in their pjs or comfy clothes. And when I said tiny living room I mean tiny. Not that it is bad but you get to be very... cozy with who you sit by. Like Connor for example. He is sitting with his little girl cousin on his lap on the recliner. Or like me, where I am practically close enough to Travis that if he laid an arm around me, we would be snuggling.
"Connor, do you even like the Packers or the Bears?" I asked, barely lifting my head from Travis's shoulder. Yep, that's how cozy we had to get. Good thing we are pretending to be dating...
'Too bad it's just pretend. You'd make a great couple...' 'Shut up Aphrodite!' I thought. 'Whatever. Imma go get my shopping on!'
'It's not even Black Friday though!' I told her/thought. 'Hey, deals are deals so back off sister.'
Woah there."Eh, not really. I wanted to watch the Eagles and Lions play but now I have to settle for this. C'MON ACTUALLY RUN DON'T JUST STAND THERE!" Connor said, well shouted.
"Hey take it down a notch would'ya? Thanks." Shouted Granny Stoll.
"Sorry grandma..."
And so for the rest of the night we watched football. During half-time I started to get tired so I made myself even more snuggled into Travis, using him as a pillow. I swear out of the corner of my eye a small smile on his face.
"Hey lovebirds. Make room for Granny Stoll okay? Good." Granny said. Plopping herself down almost on top of me. Almost. Travis pulled me onto his lap before she could sit on me. Either way this is still an awkward situation.
"So um, where should I sit?" I asked Travis nervously.
"You're fine Katie-Kat. No worries." He said with a reassuring smile.
"Okay... As long as no one draws on my face."
"One time! You make a mistake one time and people start to think you'll do it again!" Connor dramatized.
"Shut up you cry baby!" Little cousin Stoll said. Preach it girl.
After that little episode, the game returns and now I am actually snuggling with Travis. You know what, he doesn't smell that bad... STOP! For Pete's sake we aren't actually dating so stop thinking thoughts like this. Well actually I was just commenting on how he smells so... that doesn't really have to do with dating him at all... Whatever.
I hate having conversations with myself in my head, it gets to be too much sometimes.
My eyes started to close somewhere around the start of the 4th quarter and soon enough I was fully asleep.

[Quick Travis POV]
OH MY GODS KATIE IS SLEEPING ON ME. THIS IS BOTH CUTE AMD SLIGHTLY WEIRD. WHY AM I YELLING TO MYSELF? Ok calm down. Deep breathes. After watching football for so long I started to get tired of Connor's yelling and Granny nagging him. I was debating whether or not I should take Katie back to her room or just stay here. I decided to stay here because I didn't want to disturb Katie (and I was too lazy to carry her, lol). Towards the end of the game I started to drift off as well, forget that Katie was here too.

[3rd person POV]
"Should we wake them?" Travis's mom asked.
"Nah, just let them be. Young love. You know, me and the hubby were a lot like this when we were younger..." Granny started.
"I know mom, you've told me a thousand times." Mrs. Stoll sighed. She turned off the living room lights and helped Granny into her room and that was the end of the night. 🌙
