~In the car~
"Wait what?" I said confused.
"You were late to school, remember you texted me this morning." She said. UGH FUCK! I forgot I texted her this morning.
"Uuuh?.......mom I can explain!" I started. "I over slept and my alarm didn't go off and.......and......and...." I started jumbling my words.
"You know you can't be late. Especially on the second say of school. You're lucky your father doesn't know, and I'm not planning to tell him. Maybe staying out late last night was a bad idea....."
"No mom!" I yelled. She widened her eyes in surprise and looked at me like if I did not just do that.
"Sorry mom?" I smiled awkwardly.
"Okay, but can't be late to school." She said.
"Okay." I replied.
She smiled as we drove home.
"Hey, can I stay at Melanie's tonight?"
"Do you have homework?" I shook my head.
"I guess that's okay, but make sure you get some rest, and go to school on time tomorrow!"
"Thank you!" I sent her a cheeky smile, as I got home and called melanie.
~~in the call~~
"Hello?" I began.
"Hello? Melanie?"
"So can you come?"
"Yeah, but my mom found out about being late to school....."
"Yeah! Mine did to, buuuut, she said that you were still able to stay!"
"Yeees! Alright I'll see you then."

Me, and Melanie have basically been friends our whole life's. Our moms are really good friends. So we stay at each other's houses a lot. I packed some clothes and walked down stairs. My mom was making dinner, chicken soup; homemade. I smiled before getting a juice box out of the fridge, and also receiving a message from Shawn.
