Once upon a time

Chapter five

The wedding morning came, no birds sung  only despair filled the air. But inside the mansion servants were busy preparing and commands flew around the house. Ari was busy getting ready to fit her wedding dress, while her mother watched from afar. " How beautiful my daughter looks, I'm so happy, it's definitely from my genes," the mother thought.
When Ari finished wearing her wedding gown her mother spoke with pride,"my daughter is more beautiful than the gods themselves!"

Shocked filled everyone's face as the sky began to rumbled and the day darkened. The face of Poseidon  loomed across the clouds, anger was very obvious in his face. "Who dare to insult the almighty Gods?!" Of course already knowing who did the bidding he cast his trident towards Ari's  mother,"you shall be punished and your daughter as well. " Finished bellowing in rage, Poseidon swirled his trident around and pointed toward the two.

Ari's mother was chained to a rock where the sea monster would feast upon her, while Ari was turned into a bird locked up in a mysterious place  with no entrance or exit guarded by a witch.

News circulated fast across the country, everyone headed towards the harbor where Ari's mother was chained. Jay was there as well , looking bewildered. "Perhaps I should help," and because of his true heart Perseus the king who rescued Andromeda some thousand years ago appeared. "Hello young man, I would like to help rescue this maiden, but first you must tell me why you want to make this act" Perseus was a great fan of romance and thought this fellow must have an very interesting tale up his sleeves.

Jay shocked at the sudden appearance of a dead King  went silenced for a minute or two until he could speak," your greatness I would like to rescue this maiden for she is the mother of my beloved." He spoke as politely as he could.

Perseus understood and gave him a brown bag containing the head of medusa. Jay thanked him for his great help and rescued Ari's mother. Ari's mother was grateful for his help and left quickly back into her mansion. Jay who wanted more info on Ari's whereabouts from her mother was frustrated. Where ever could she be?

Later that same day Jay was wondering about in town along the way he caught some gossip on Ari's mother punishment. No wonder she was there chained up. He hoped that he has not disrespected the gods. He also heard some information about Ari saying that she too was punished and was locked up somewhere in the woods.

Without a second thought he headed towards the woods, embarking a new adventure.
