I was paralyzed by shock, I stared at the fire which was impossible to see but I have been told my eyesight is quite impeccable. A forest fire at this time of year. A moment of realization hit me. The fallen trees. I prayed a silent prayer, and proceeded to climb down which was the worse thing that could happen to me. I jumped down rolling in the dirt and ran towards the trees location, apart from my good eyesight, I had a photographic memory which was dealt on the basis of visual memory.

The trees had finally come into view, and I stopped there had to be a barrier, a barrier is some sort of booby-trap which could potentially deplete someones energy, From my bag I got out a glass shard and digged up a hole putting it in. Stepping in I looked around the trees, trying to get a sense of what I was looking for. If I was Bruns what was I doing in the middle of the woods in a sacred place like the fallen trees. Unless he knew, He knew. He didn't die from killing himself someone had silenced him because he knew about this place. It started getting warmer which was because of the forest fires, what did Bruns want here though, he must have hidden it somewhere. I looked around next to the creek, over the circled rocks and even in the trees themselves. The last place, there was no last place where was the last place. I started feeling disoriented the fire was advancing quickly. I cleared my mind thought, where could I keep it if I wanted to destroy it without physically damaging it. The barrier? The Barrier! I went back there was a reason why it had been easier to dig the hole, underneath the first layer was a makeshift bag. I put it in my bag and ran using my sleeve to cover my face.

I opened the door to aunt Deana's wing.

"I found it!"

"You look horrible"

I dismissed her my waving my hands. She shook her head in disapproval.

"So what did you find?" Her interest rising

"A bag"

"All that for a back, how entertaining" She frowned

" Obviously there was something in the bag"

"You still look like shit"

"Thank you" I made my way towards the table and displayed the bag on the table. Taking out my pocket knife I cut open the bag, revealing a jade box with that had some sort of puzzle that opened it.

"Well, this just got complicated"

"I knew this was to good to be true and here I thought I had finished the case, Deana help me open this would cha... "

"Dont call me Deana" She snapped at me "Tell Dom to help you open it"

"He isn't in yet until the end of the week"

"Its just three days"

"yeah three long days"

"Ask Mic then"

"Shes in?" I must have looked so surprised, obviously I had not being here when she had come back.

"Yeah, just don't......"

Her words fell on deaf ears as I burst out of her room and rushed to see Mic.

"Mic, so glad you're here, how was the trip, anyway I have this box I need open its for the bruns case..." I looked up when I didn't hear her respond, and felt embarrassed immediately, she was in a middle of a reading.

I looked at her reaction which contained a bit of amusement and confusion."I am so sorry"

"Its okay come back later so we can talk some more" She replied with a mischievous look. "Go take a bath you look like...."

"shit"

"Yeah"

"Okay sorry again" This time I directed it towards the customers.

Then I nodded shutting the door behind me.

I decided to take everyone's advice and take a shower, my mind vaguely touched on the boys in the woods, they had said that they were hiking but the centre had been closed today. Were they just being defiant, I mean it was common for people like them. Anyway it was a good thing they were around as they helped me and all but I couldn't shake the feeling that something was off about the situation. I wonder if they had left the woods before the fire had started. Or could they have started the fire. No I shouldn't be thinking that they helped me and that's all that matters.

Coming out of the bathroom I headed towards my bedroom to get changed. When I got downstairs I went to the kitchen to find no one around, and I realized why they already had diner before I got back.

"What are you doing here in the dark?"

I jumped as the voice had startled me, Liou had the tendency to creep up on innocent people and scare them shitless. She moved like a ghost, looked like on to. Calming myself, I realized that I had been in the dark, I didn't really find the need of switching the light on as my eyes just adjusted, I've already said I had freakishly good eyesight.

"To see if I could get food"

"You shouldn't have come late to diner?" She sounded unsure if I was there or not, I swear the people in this family only cared about themselves.

"I was in a ditch actually and there was a landslide so I couldn't climb up"

"The situations you get into sometimes makes me wonder if you just like it"

"It was for the Bruns Case, you now what will happen if I don't do it"

"Even if you had a choice would you not do it?"

I halted the question had caught me off-guard. Would I still do it. I snapped back to reality, Liou also had the ability to make people doubt themselves.

"I....I...."

"Think abut it later, so what are you going to do now"

"Well I am hungry"

She chuckled, "Ok Ill make you food do you want pancakes"

I nodded quickly, Liou also had the ability of making a wicked batch of pancakes.
