Joy and I were able to get to know each other and became pretty close. We were the same age, had similar interests, and pretty much was one of the only people who I thought I could trust. She kind of grew on me too, she was just so happy moat of the time, and she always had something positive to say. After being in the city for a about a week, Joy decided she'd give me a tour around the city. She invited a couple of her friends to introduce me to and later took me to the Downtown of the city which I figured was were all the fun was. On the ride over she began asking me questions until she finally asked me something I hoped no one would ask, "I know it's a touchy subject, but what caused you and your dad to move here?" she asked.

I quickly became uneasy, I guess someone would ask eventually, and I'd asked my dad not to tell anyone. "I'd rather not speak of it. I mean, I'll tell you, but I just don't think its the right time yet." I said while looking outside the window.

"Well if it helps, you know you can trust me, I am your cousin after all!" she said as she gave me a nudge. "You're gunna love it here trust me."

So far the summer here wasn't as bad as I was expecting. I wasn't having any nightmares, I wasn't feeling stressed out, and I wasn't feeling guilty of something I hadn't done. I was quickly feeling like i fit in somewhere again, and i felt as if i was going to be able to rebuild myself falling in love with this city as well. Joy decided to take me to some mall called Rivercenter as a starting point, Isabelle and Roxana who were Joy's friends were there with us. Isabelle and Roxana were two peas in a pod, they were almost exactly alike, and one would of thought they were sisters. They were bubbly and had the same vibe Joy have when she was being nice.

We walked around, and after a while we returned to the mall and decided to grab something to eat. Isabelle and I were the first to grab our order, Joy and Roxana were still indecisive about what to get. Isabelle suggested getting a place to sit, "So Anthony," she began to say, "You're from California? Which part?"

There it was again, a question about my past, I just wanted to forget it all. "I'd rather not say, I don't really like remembering that place." I replied. She looked at me as if it didn't make sense, I guess I understood, I could have at least told her where I was from. I guess Joy mentioned something to her about not asking about my past or whatever since she quickly changed the topic. "Aw bummer, I actually moved from Oklahoma a couple of years ago, so you're not alone in case you feel like you hardly know a thing about the city."

I chuckled, "Well that's nice to know."

Roxana made her way over, Joy followed behind as she carried a huge amount of fries I couldn't imagine she's be eating by herself. "So are you going to be going to school with us?" Roxana asked.

"I believe so, and honestly I'm a little nervous about going there." I replied.

"Don't worry about it! It's a pretty small school, and everyone is really nice!"

"I hope so.."

We found a little table by the river to sit. The girls talked about celebrities and stuff while I listened. Roxana seemed to notice someone walking towards us and soon after she told us to look. "Jerry's here." she said. Joy looked at her, "Is that bitch with him?" "No, makes things worse."
"Damn it, he's so stressful when she's not with him, and even worse when she is." said Isabelle as she scooted closer to the girls. I couldn't really understand what was going on with this kid from the very little that they said.

"Hey," Jerry said at a distance, the girls smiled, I felt odd for dinner reason, "and hi, who are you?" he asked.

"He's Anthony, he's my cousin and he'll be going to school with us this year." Joy replied
