"Come on you can't ignore my family forever" I chuckle as I put on my head piece wanting to jazz up my outfit.

"I've heard you on the phone to them, your father seems mean" he whines as he sits on the couch with his arms crossed over his chest.

"They will love you as much as I love you" I say walking over and sitting myself on his lap and placing a quick kiss in his nose.

"What if it's like Romeo and Juliet" he whine loudly as he thinking this over way to much.

"Nate, I love you but sometimes you need to man up and grow a pair" I say slapping him lightly on the chest before getting back up.

"Oh please you know I have a pair, a pretty great pair" Nate brags making me cringe as I laugh.

"Yeah if you act like that my parents defiantly won't like you" i say.

I had landed back in Australia only a couple of days ago and Nate being the amazing boyfriend he was surprised me the next day as he booked us a room at one of his fathers hotels.

Today I was to see my family and since things between Nate and I were getting very serious I thought it was about time he met my family and my family met him.

"See, they won't like me" Nate yells as I shake my head at him checking that I had everything I needed in my handbag.

"Will you please go get dressed so we won't end up being two hours late"

"It's so good to see you honey" my mum says as she engulfs me with a hug as I enter her house.

"It would be, if you weren't suffocating me" I laugh seeing my mum pull back in embarrassment obviously not realising how much she was squeezing me.

I looked back seeing that Nate was awkwardly standing at the door rocking back and fourth on his heel.

"Mum, dad, id like you to meet my boyfriend Nate" I say with a smile motioning towards Nate as he gives a hesitant wave.

It was so great to finally be able to say it out loud that he was my boyfriend.

"It's so good to finally meet you" my mum squeals also dragging Nate into a hug which surprised him as he was hesitant at first but then returned the favour.

"Hope your treating my daughter well" my dad says making me roll my eyes as he gives Nate a hand shake.

"So when are we eating?" I ask intertwining Nate's hand with mine.

"Oh right, come into the kitchen it's all prepared" my mum says excitedly as I follow her into the kitchen dragging Nate along with me.

We walked into the kitchen to see that there was all kind of good everywhere on the table.

Of course my mum cooked way more than she needed to once I finally came home.

It's like she was making up for all the dinners I had missed, there was that much food.

I took a seat as Nate took one next to me as my parents sat opposite as we immediately dug into all the food.

"So how did you two meet?" My mum questions as she takes a bit of her chicken.

"Well it's nothing special but he was staying in the hotel room next to me and was playing his music a bit too loud so I went over and told him to turn it down and yeah that's kind of how it started" I say looking at Nate the whole time as I smile at him.

Although throughout the story I couldn't help and think of Sam, I had met him basically the exact same way.

Ever since I said goodbye we haven't had any contact with each other which kind of made me sad since I really did like Sam.

Maybe if I had given him notice that I was leaving things would have ended differently.
