Closed Eyes Don't Cry

"Ashy, I-I don't feel go-good..." You laid in Ashley's lap as Jake's car ran over potholes and speed bumps. Ashley stroked the side of your face and tried to calm you down. "Ssh, shh it's okay sweet pea. We're almost to the hospital, they're gonna make you all better." You sobbed into Ashley's shirt as the car came to an abrupt stop. Jake got out and opened yours and Ashley's door. He helped Ashley pull you out of the car, Ashley hugged you close as he carried you toward the sliding doors of the hospital. He ran you up to the front desk and huffed out. "Please, please my girlfriend was attacked she needs help!" The nurse behind the desk nodded curtly saying. 

"Sir you're going to need to calm down, we'll get her the help she needs." The woman snapped her fingers at a nearby doctor. "What's the problem?" 

"Dr. Niles this woman has been attacked, there appears to be cranial damage here and here." The woman said frantically pointing to each wound. Dr. Niles called to some nearby nurses and they came rushing over with a bed. You were placed down gently and were wheeled away down a long corridor. The hospital lights scorched your eyes and made you cry out from pain. Feeling weak and dizzy from blood loss the world around you began to go dark. As the lights of the hospital faded away you pale lips whispered out. "Ashley...."

Ashley paced in the waiting room, pulling at his hair mindlessly. Jake had tried to calm him down but to no avail. After what seemed like hours Dr. Niles came out from the hallway you'd been wheel'd down. His face was tired and sullen. Ashley rushed over and looked with almost hopeless eyes. "Sir, we were able to stop the bleeding and stabilize her but I'm afraid there is no detected brain activity. There is a chance she's still there but she's beyond our reach. Sir, your girlfriend may never wake again."
