When Tatsu came to, she saw that she was in the Leaf Hospital. She tried to sit up, but a wave of pain shot from her left shoulder, making her flinch. Her whole shoulder was wrapped in bandages.

"You shouldn't move," said a voice that surprised her, Neji, "Lady Tsunade said that you shouldn't try to move for a while."

"Humph," said Tatsu, "Why do you care?"

She examined Neji who was also covered in bandages, "He must have had a rough time with the spider guy, I don't think I've seen Neji beat up like this before."

"Wait, what about the mission?" asked Tatsu, "Did Naruto get Sasuke back?"

Neji's eyes strayed down to the floor, "Unfortunately, even with all our efforts, we couldn't bring Sasuke back."

"What?" thought Tatsu, "We...failed..."

"However Naruto has not given up on him," explained Neji, "He plans to get Sasuke back."

"Well, at least he hasn't given up yet," said Tatsu, "Did you want something?"

"What?" asked Neji.

"You wouldn't be the first person I would think of to visit me," said Tatsu, "So what do you want?"

"Lady Hinata wanted to visit you today as usual, but her father wanted to do some training with her," explained Neji, "So I offered to go in her stead, but I do want to talk to you."

"Hinata has been here?" thought Tatsu.

"You were right about that day at the Chunin Exams," said Neji, "I wanted to beat Hinata, because I hated the Royal Family. I was in the dark, much like Sasuke, but thanks to Naruto I was able to understand. You hatred for me is understandable, I don't think there's anything I can do to make you forgive me, but I am sorry."

"Whoa," thought Tatsu, "Neji's apologising and he said he was wrong!"

"You're a good friend to her," said Neji, "She's lucky to have someone like you looking out for her."

"No she's not," said Tatsu, "You got the wrong idea about me. No one is lucky to be my friend, that's why I don't have any."

"I can't have any," thought Tatsu.

Neji smiled, "You may deny it, but I think you have more friends than you think."

Before Tatsu could say something Shikamaru had walked into the room with Choji and Naruto. Choji and Naruto were almost completely covered in bandages, but Shikamaru looked just fine.

"Well, look who decided to wake up," said Shikamaru.

"Yeah you had us worried for a minute there," said Naruto.

"What are you talking about?" asked Tatsu

"You've been out for at least a week," said Choji, "Kiba had completely flipped out when he heard what happened."

"Yeah, I thought he wasn't ever going to shut up," said Shikamaru

"Wait I was out a whole week!?" said Tatsu.

"Yeah you were totally trashed," laughed Naruto.

"What's so funny?" angrily asked Tatsu.

"I've never seen you that beat up before I couldn't help it," said Naruto wiping a the tears from his eyes.

"Naruto you're so lucky I can't really move right now cause if I could.." threatened Tatsu, but was interrupted by someone conking Naruto on the head.

"Stop tormenting her Naruto," said Kiba, "Don't make her want to kill you as soon as she wakes up."

"Ow!' said Naruto, "What the heck was that for?!"

"You ok?" asked Kiba.

Tatsu said nothing.

"Come on guys," said Shikamaru, "I know it's kind of drag since we just got here, but we should let Tatsu recover. Let's give her some space."

"Ok fine," said Naruto.

"Glad to see you awake Tatsu," said Choji.

"Rest up fast Tatsu," said Kiba, "We'll get to training as soon as you're out."

Neji nodded and left Tatsu alone with the other guys.

Late that night, Tatsu was still up pondering what Neji said.

"He's wrong," said Tatsu, "I don't have any friends. I can't."

"That's good to hear," said a voice.

When she heard it, she froze and slowly turned her head to the window. A man was crouched on

the window sill, he has short black hair and hazel eyes. He also had on a black short sleeved shirt with black pants and ninja sandals.

"What do you want?" asked Tatsu coldly.

"Just wanted to make sure our prized possession hadn't been damaged too badly," said the man smiling, "Wouldn't want you dying on us now do we?"

"Since when do I care about your ambitions?" said Tatsu, "I've said it once and I'll say it again, I'm not going to do what you want."

"You say that now, but you will agree eventually," said the man, "You can try to fight it all you want, but you're still just like us."

"I'm nothing like you!" yelled Tatsu.

"You have your mother's beautiful hair, but your face is just like your fathers," said the man, "Don't forget who you are Tatsu. You are the last hope of our clan."

The man left the window, letting the wind outside slightly moving the curtains around.

"I will kill you," said Tatsu, "Father."
