Reader's POV

I was badly outmatched this time. I really messed up, and now I was going to pay the price. A group of villains showed up and started killing innocent people, which caused me to jump into action. I was a A-Rank hero registered as 'The Phantom Fox'. These villains were stronger than they looked, and they sure packed a punch. They cornered me and I closed your eyes. 'This is it,' I thought. 'This is how I'm going to die.'

Just as I was expecting to be slaughtered in cold blood, A shadow covered me, and the screams of the villains were heard as well as the grunt of a man. I opened my eyes to find a bald man, no older than 25, in front of me, smoke producing from his fist. Stuttering, I asked, "D-Did you kill t-them in one p-punch?" He turned and had a bored expression on his face. "Mhmm. It was a pretty boring fight to- A-Are you alright? Your head is kind of bleeding."

I felt my forehead, only to feel a warm liquid falling from a gash that was on my forehead and scalp. I sighed and said, "I'm alright. A little shaken up, but okay. I need to go get my head stitched shut again..." I pouted at the fact of the matter, making the bald man laugh. It then occurred to me. "By the way, what's your name? Mine is (YOUR NAME), or The Phantom Fox." "Ah, my name is Saitama. Please, let me take you to the hospital." I sighed but nodded, feeling dizzy just from the small movement.

Once we were done at the hospital, we decided to hang out for a little bit. "Say, Saitama. Are you a registered hero too?" He nodded. "They call me Caped Baldy. I'm just a B-Rank though. My disciple Genos is an S-Rank." My jaw dropped at his words. "G-Genos is your disciple?! And why are you only a B-Rank? You should be and A or S-Rank!" He laughed gently and said, "I didn't do too well on the written portion of the exams. I only did well at the physical portion. I started out as a C-Rank." I sighed. "Those damn test makers don't know what the hell they're doing. Sometimes you don't need knowledge to win a fight. Hopefully, they see that once you make it up to S-Rank."

He ruffled my hair, making me puff out my cheeks at him. "What rank are you, (YOUR NAME)?" "A-Rank. I somehow made it up this far and now I'm not gaining or losing my rank. I need to get stronger, but every time I get stronger, the villains are stronger, even if it's by a small margin!" I huffed in frustration and looked over to see Saitama looking at me in a way I've never seen anyone look at me. "S-Sorry. I'm just so frustrated! How can all my work be all for nothing?!" I groaned loudly, only to have Saitama rub my back gently.

"Just keep working hard and I'm sure you'll get to where you need to be. After all, there is a limit to the amount of strength you can have." I nodded gently, feeling the stitches on my head before remembering something important. "AH CRAP! THE SUPERMARKET IS HAVING A SALE AND I'M ABOUT TO MISS IT!" Saitama perked up at this and said, "REALLY?! THEN LETS GO TOGETHER!" We both ran as fast as we could to the store and bought everything that we could afford then walked out calmly. "That was fun, but I have to go, Saitama. I gotta put all this away." He nodded and waved a small goodbye, then off we went.

Saitama's POV

Once (YOUR NAME) was out of sight, my cheeks flared up a bright red. 'What a girl...,' I thought to myself. Once home, Genos helped me put away all the groceries and asked what took me so long. I explained the situation and Genos immediately responded with, "Master, you got a girlfriend?" I blushed dark red again and yelled, "NO! DAMMIT GENOS!" Then, in a smaller voice I said, "At least, not yet." Genos smiled knowingly, then went back to putting away groceries. Damn cyborg...
