Chapter 1.

Mal's POV.

"Ben! We need to leave or we'll be late ."

And they say girls take too long to get ready it took me twenty minutes to get ready and Ben has been in the bathroom for almost an hour. We have to leave now or else we'll be late for breakfast with his parents.

"Im here . Let's go !" He exclaims breathlessly .

"You doof , Carlos and Jane are waiting in the limo. "

We made our way down the large open stairway, which lead out onto a bright hallway. The morning sun gleamed through the bay windows.

Two smartly dressed servants opened the door In front of us, a jet black limo waited with open doors.

At breakfast

"What are your plans for the day you two?" Belle asks between mouthfuls of bacon and salad.

"Ummm ... I'm not ......"

"We're going to the enchanted lake with Evie,Doug,Jay,Audrey,Carlos and Jane for lunch and a swim ." Ben cuts me off I just nod and smile , why didn't he tell me this ?
We're walking out hand in hand when I decide to try my luck .

"Ben?Can I ask you something ?" I mumble.

"Of course anything Princess"

"When did you plan this lunch date with everyone and not tell me?"

" Oh Mal , have you forgotten what today is ?" He says smirking and giggling a little.

"August 14th ...... Ohhhhh "
It's year anniversary how could I forget? He's going to be so mad I didn't even get him anything I'll make it up to him tomorrow.

"A year ago today I fell in love with the most beautiful girl in Auradon and I couldn't help but use any excuse to see you . Since then I have never been happier with anyone before and did I mention.... That ... I'm in lo.."

"Hey bennyboo" a voice Squeaked I looked over Bens Shoulder and of course it was Audrey. What was she doing here ? She's always had it out for me . I knew it .

"Audrey, what a surprise!" Ben mutters disappointedly.
Before everyone can reach us I quickly take this moment to surprise Ben :

" I love you too Bennyboo " I whisper into his ear before pulling him into a kiss nothing heavy but a light peck but good enough to prove my loyalty.
Ben slides his hand around my waist and I feel a fire ignite inside of me this is his way of telling me not to  worry . Just as everyone reaches us he whispers into my ear
"We'll finish this later "

Butterflies erupt in my stomach I can't help but smile even at the sight of Audrey.

Ben's POV

"Hey Jay , Carlos you were meant to meet us at the lake ."

" We're heading there now care to join us" Audrey motions to the seat next to her talking in her bitter sweet voice .

"Haha no thanks we were fine with the bike " Mal replies quickly before covering her purple locks with her now purple hat. Her smile was soft and sweet and her eyes full of golden flecks.

We speed though the abandoned country lanes Mal grasping onto my jacket. This familiar touch sent a sudden warmth throughout my body.

Mal's POV

I held on to ben's jacket, the soft fabric between each of my fingers. I couldn't wait to see the others, except Audrey of course Jay is my best friend but it's not my fault his girlfriend flirts with my boyfriend constantly . Surely he realises it too or maybe she's just being friendly I don't understand the Auradonion kids.

"Mal we're here let's grab our bags from the limo and go ."

"Yeah cool ...."

"What's wrong Princess?" I can see the concern on his face he knows I don't swim ; but I'm willing to try for him.

"It's just I still ...uh... Don't know how to swim and I was just thinking I bought a costume with me so I was thinking could you well ... Uh teach ..... Me how to swim?" I say quickly moving my hand to cover my face I'm almost certain my cheeks have gone flushed from pink to bright red . I feel Bens strong , warm hands on mine as he pulls them from my face
"Of course I'll teach you but if you don't like it tell me straight away , Ok ? "

"Ok thank you Ben your the best ! " I practically scream in excitement just as I'm about to join the others Ben grabs my arm and pulls me into a hug before kissing my forehead
"I love you Mal " he chuckles before guiding me through the forest pathway .
