"I CANNOT BELIEVE THIS!"
I pace my room, flinging pillows and kicking drawers. Elsie, my lady in waiting, anxiously follows my footsteps and puts everything back in place.
"My lady, I am sure this will not be for a long time, you still need to come back and marry soon!"
"MARRIAGE?!?! How can that possibly be a positive! Chained to the whims of some insufferably disloyal prince, one that will squander his power, neglect his duties! Lord knows that Father will find someone like him just to spite me and bend me into obedience."
"I understand, my lady."
Racing through my closet, I fling gowns, hats, gloves, shoes and more in Elsie's direction. She miraculously catches them all and has it in my trunk before I can blink.
"My lady... the... special clothes?"
"Oh yes! I mustn't forget them!"
Darting to the back of the closet, I head to a mannequin with a gorgeous but highly uncomfortable snow white gown on and reach underneath the skirts, grasping the bottom of the mannequin. I open a small compartment and grabbed the pants and shirt Elsie gifted me for my last birthday. They are getting small, but I didn't care. Normal girls could wear pants and shirts and even something called shorts! I however, was stuck in this medieval ideology of women wearing dresses all the time.
"Oh Elsie! What will I do without you!"
The petite blonde gave a small smile. "You won't have to find out..."
My eyes widened and a scowl was halfway across my face before she quickly explained herself.
"I only found out this morning! The King said I was not allowed to tell you! Plus you looked so peaceful in the garden..."
I smiled and gave a small chuckle. The garden was anything but peaceful. I was sitting on a bench (hidden from sight) listening to two court sweethearts argue. The things people say about each other when they get mad enough is horrifying, but all to my advantage.
"It's alright then, I know you had no choice. I am so happy you will provide me some relief!"
I gazed out the large windows in my chambers.
"Where am I going, anyway?"
