Chapter 1👯
I dreaded going home tonight.
I'm afraid my dad will harm me tonight.
My mom died about two years ago. After my mom died my dad became an alcoholic.
I look a lot like my mom, and my dad hates that. I have olive-colored skin with jet black hair and brown eyes, just like her. It pains him to look at me so he beats me when he gets drunk sometimes.
My mom was kind and loving. I am too but if you test my patience I can explode. So I have a little anger issue. It's probably because my mom's gone.
When I arrived home my dad was in a big old tattered chair drinking. He looked at me and told me to throw away his beer bottles. I was slowly walking to the kitchen when I dropped a bottle. My face went red and my eyes teared up. I knew what was going to happen......
He started to scream and told me to pick up the bottle. I picked it up barehanded and my hands started to bleed. My dad got up very steadily and slowly. He came up to me and slapped me so hard my cheek started to bleed.
He then ambled back to his tattered chair. He took a long sip out of another bottle and started to slur words to me that I didn't understand at all.
When I finished cleaning I went into my room and started to clean my face and hands. While I'm cleaning myself, I think of her stronger than usual. I know she would've hated the way Dad treats me.
The only time I don't think of her is when I dance. Sometimes I go to the rooftop of the old Chinese restaurant I work at and practice.
When I turn eighteen, I want to run away and become a professional dancer. I will get there someday and I don't care how..............
