Chapter One♦

::Carter's p.o.v::

Bitch dont kill my vibe blasted through my Beats as i walked in the halls, staring at everyone who was staring at me. I'm Carter Monroe and i go to a Performing Arts School in L.A California.

Im a loner. I have no desire in having friends or anything above that extent. I think im better off on my own and my life is reason enough. My mom died when i was 3 and ive been living with my dad for most of my life. He is a drug king and makes millions every month. Problem is, hes never around. Every day when i go to school theres a guy who is smoking in my living room, waiting for him. Sometimes I get rapped or sometimes i get beaten. All depends on the guy. Im always stuck up in my room doing nothing but listening to music. Sometiems i get so bored, i do homework. My life is boring and nothing is exciting about it. Not even the fact that i live in a mansion with the dopest clothes there is out there. That doesnt make me happy and nothing will.

"Carter?"

I turned around to see Tiana waving at me. Tiana is a girl ive known since my mom died. She was at her funeral and we've been friends ever since. I lost contact with her when she moved a few years ago, but i guess i get to reconcile with her. "Hi Tiana" I smiled polietly and gave her a quick hug. I slapped my beats off my head and let them hang across my neck. "Its nice to see you again. Hows life?". Yay! An easy question. "Terrible. Hows yours?"

"Mine is fine. Im just trying to start off my singing carreer" she explained. "Nice"

"I want you to meet some friends of mine"

She grabbed my arm and took me to her locker where there were four boys along with four girls. "This is Chresanto, Jacob, Craig and Raquan along with Destiny, Jaylen, Maya and Kim" she said. I said hi to all of them and they replied back. My eyes couldnt keep off of Chresanto. He had dirty blonde curls covering his black strands. He had big sexy lips along with chocolate eyes that atrracted me. "You are?" I looked at the girl who seemed to be Jaylen. "I'm Carter" i said. She chuckled and whispered something to Raquan. "Something wrong?"

"No, just a pretty name" she smiled. I smiled slightly and stood there speechless. "Your a quiet one" Chresanto pointed out. I grew hotter and my hands started to sweat. "I dont know what to say" I muttered. "Hi? Whats up? How are you doing? Dont just stand there. You might as well leave" Maya said, wrapping her arms around Jacob. "Well then, Hello, Whats up? How are you doing?". The rest laughed as she rolled her eyes, "Whatever'.

"Enough playing around. My parents arent home and we should go somehwere" Tiana offered. "Like?" Ray said.

"Ever heard of a mall?"

Ray gave her a funny look and then leaned back on his locker. "No need for the attitude". She laughed. "So whos coming?". They all agreed but i stayed silent. "Carter you coming?"

I looked at her and bit my lip. I could get out of the house..."Sure". She smiled and then turned to the rest of the group. "Ok, we will all meet up at Chresanto's house" she said before walking off. The rest walked off as he looked dumbfounded. "I didnt agree to that!" He yelled towards Tiana's direction. I giggled a little. "Oh you think thats funny?" he chuckled along. I nodded slightly and smiled warmly. "I guess it is a little funny" he laughed, "I'm Chresanto". "Carter" I held my hand out as he shook it. "Your new here?"

"No"

He furrowed his eyebrows, "Oh. I dont see you very often" he said. "I know, im more by myself around here" i explained. "Well maybe you could change that and eat lunch with us later on" he offered. I nodded and smiled at him.

"Who do you have now?" he asked. I looked around the school and noticed Ms. Hollow standing on the phone outside her room. "Miss Hollow".

"Me too"

He smiled at me and we both walked to class. Hes really cute and seems nice. I guess i could make at least one friend for a change. "Since you dont know where my house is, can i pick you up?" he asked. "Yeah, my aadress is 2460 Hill Street" I said, taking a seat next to him. "Great, pick you up at five".

I just took a shower and hurried to get dressed. I put on my black cropped swing tank with my Jay Ahr Contrast-stripe stretch leather leggins along with my shiny red hightops and Chicago-Bull Jock Jacket. I slipped on my YOLO phone case onto my ipod and fixed my hair down.

On my way out, i grabbed my Chicago Bull snapback and closed my room door. I raced downstairs and grabbed my keys before my dad could see me. I walked out and waited on the steps for Chresanto.

Five minutes passed and he pulled up in front of my house. I walked towards his Mercedes Bendz and got into the passenger seat. "Damn, Carter. With that get-up you dont need to go shopping" he said. I giggled and fixed my seat belt. "Just drive"

We reached his house and got everyone and then made our way to the L.A. Mall. It was a big mall and we didnt know where to start. "Why dont the guys go ahead and us girls stay together and then meet up at Journeys but seven?" Tiana said. We all agreed and we split up.

The girls went all around the mall and we stopped by Zumiez. I scanned through the outifts and picked out a John Roca bra top with hot pink shorts and pink and black hightops.

"So you like Chresanto dont you?"

I looked at her and chuckled slightly. "No i dont. I just think hes cute" i said. "Mhm," she hummed, "I saw you checking him out at school" she said.

I glimped at her and gave my clothes to the cashier. "Tiana, i dont like Chresanto. I just think hes attractive, thats all" i said. I tapped my nails on the counter and waited for him to finish checking out my clothes. "I guess you should keep it that way. He has a girlfriend" she said. Wow...a way to bump my day down even more. "Her name is Sanai and she is one tough effa!" she said. I looked at her and pretended i was worried. She giggled and handed the cashier her clothes. I took mine and made my way out through the store and met up with Maya, Jaylen, Destiny, Anne and Kim. "What did you get?" Kim asked. I handed her my bag and she looked at my clothes like they were gold. "All i got was a crop top. How could you afford all of this?" she asked.

"Long story short"

She chuckled and me and the girls had a little chat while we waited for Tiana. Turns out, Jaylen is Jacob's girlfriend, Maya is Rays and Kim is Craig's girl. They were all very lucky because their boyfriends were not ugly.

Maya has light brown hair and green eyes. Shes latina so she was light skinned. Jaylen was a chocolate skin color and had natural long black hair. Her eyes were hazel and her smile was to die for. Kim was short and had waist-legnth long black hair. She had dark brown eyes and as well, latina. Destiny was a brown color and had shoulder-legnth burgendy hair with brown eyes to fit her perfectly. The guys were also lucky.

I got a long with all of them and i think i made five new friends. Maybe being more social wouldnt hurt. After all, i met eight new cool people today.

Time passed and it was already seven. The girls had three bags each while i was barraccaded with nine. I bought a lot...

"Wow Carter. You must be a rich girl because that doesnt look like its all on a hundred-dollar budget" Ray said, sitting down on one of the chairs. "Nothing wrong with a girl trying to treat herself" i said. "Nope not at all" Jacob said, coming in with more bags then me. "Wow..."

"What? Never seen a guy shop his ass off before" he said. We all laughed and started to talk about random stuff as we checked out shoes. "Carter?"

I turned around and saw my ex boyfriend who i moved to another school to get away from, "Diggy?"
